There were reports that emerged claiming that the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, spoke to Vladimir Putin to talk him out of Nuclear weapons use. The billionaire referred to the claims and denied them as untrue.
The reports emerged right after Elon Musk presented a plan for ‘forcing’ peace in Ukraine by giving away their territories and proclaiming neutrality. Kind of what Russia always wanted and why they started the war.
Did Elon Musk Speak To Vladimir Putin About Nuclear Weapons Use?
Since Elon Musk’s proposal was very pro-Russian, people started rumoring that he might have spoken with the Russian president himself. In addition to this, the head of the Eurasia Group political risk consultancy, Ian Bremmer, might have suggested that it happened. He claimed that he spoke with Elon Musk and the claims came from that meeting.
“Elon Musk told me he had spoken with Putin and the Kremlin directly about Ukraine.” – Ian Bremmer tweeted. “He also told me what the kremlin’s red lines were. I have been writing my weekly newsletter on geopolitics for 24 yrs. I write honestly without fear or favor and this week’s update was no different.”
What is interesting is that the story is as official as it can get. It was published in an official newsletter from Eurasia Group where Bremmer bragged about his meeting with Elon Musk. In the publishing, Bremmer claims that Musk knew that Vladimir Putin is ‘prepared to talk’. However, he revealed that this comes under one condition. Ukraine needs to accept Russia’s terms.
Vladimir’s terms are matching with Elon Musk’s proposal for a solution completely. According to Musk, to stop the war, Crimea must remain Russian, and Ukraine should accept to be neutral. Finally, the last request is that Ukraine should annex Lugansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.
According to Bremmer’s newsletter, Vladimir Putin won’t back down and will try to win the war in Ukraine ‘no matter what’. The Russian president told that he must achieve the war aims. So the only option that Ukraine has is to accept the terms.
Allegedly Elon Musk said that Russia will use nuclear weapons if Ukraine tries to retake Crimea. Elon Musk shared his concerns with Bremmer and pledged for everything to be done ‘to avoid that outcome’. The billionaire published these conditions on his Twitter account and included a vote option to which he received a massive negative outcome. Nevertheless, the poll brought attention to Elon Musk and he even got a reply from Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, denied having anything with the Russian president. He claims he hadn’t talked to him since almost 2 years ago. And when they did speak, the topic was about space.
“I have spoken to Putin only once and that was about 18 months ago. The subject matter was space.” – Elon claimed on Twitter.
