Eddie Hearn Sues Jake Paul for $100 million After Bribing Judges Allegations

Jake Paul will enter the courtroom as he is suing Eddie Hearn, the famous boxing promoter. The reason behind the lawsuit is that Jake Paul claimed that Eddie Hearn bribed a boxing judge to score a fight in his favor.

The kid that once filmed Youtube videos for a living is now a ‘professional’ boxer. He accuses Eddie Hearn of having a boxing judge on his paying list.  so he can have an edge in matches.

The boxing judge in question is Glenn Feldman. The judge that scored the fights between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, and Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.

Since these are very serious allegations, the long-time boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, decided to take legal action against the YouTuber.

The boxing world will witness a defamation lawsuit. Matchroom is suing Jake Paul for making an “outrageously false and baseless allegation” and as a result ruining their reputation.

Eddie Hearn heard the claims made by the ‘Problem Child’ during an interview he had earlier this month.

“Both legally and ethically there is a clear line separating opinion from defamatory lies.”- Eddie Hearn’s lawyer, Frank Salzano states.

“Jake Paul knows that, and he purposely crossed that line when he wrongly accused Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn of fixing fights. Nonetheless, we gave him an opportunity to retract his defamatory statements, but he refused to. Now he will face the legal consequences of his actions as Matchroom and Mr. Hearn will be seeking damages in well excess of $100 million given the value and goodwill attached to the Matchroom business and the harmful nature of Mr. Paul’s comments.”

Jake Paul’s interview indeed insinuates that Eddie Hearn had already paid a judge for sanctioning a fight in his favor.

“Glenn Feldman shows up in Saudi and scores Anthony Joshua to win the fight. But everyone watching the fight says it is not a split decision. Clearly, this guy is getting money by Matchroom Boxing.” – Jake Paul said in the interview. “It’s a bold statement and an accusation that I don’t take likely, but it’s just blatantly obvious. And they’re not even trying to hide it.”

Eddie Hearn’s lawyers submitted video footage of the interview as proof to the court.

“What he said in terms of his allegations of corruption with Glen Feldman is totally unacceptable. We all have a laugh with Jake and he’s an average fighter. But I’m telling you now, what he says is unacceptable and we will be deal with it. We take this sport, our values as a family seriously. We love the sport of boxing.” – Eddie revealed his plans in an interview last week.

“So, for him to come out with idiotic comments without even thinking of what he said is extremely harmful. Very disrespectful to us as a business and as a family.” – Eddie said at the press conference. “The court will deal with Jake’s comments appropriately. I’m not prepared to take what he is saying with a pinch of salt on this occasion. Because it’s bang out of order and totally disrespectful to the sport of boxing and to me and us.
