Elon Musk decided to proceed with the Twitter deal and paid the promised $44 billion to the company to complete his acquisition. Of course, since he already was in dispute with some of the people working in high ranks of the company, he fired them, the moment he stepped into the office. He showed the exit door to the CEO Parag Agrawal, to the CFO Ned Segal, and to the CLC Vijaya Gadde.
Intracompany sources confirm for DailyMail that this is true. However, there is no information on whether Musk signed the complete paperwork for the deal. There is no official information on the closing of the transaction. However, the thing that surely happened is that Elon Musk already stepped into the office and re-arranged the top executives of the company.
Elon Musk Takes The Wheel To Twitter And Fires Top Executives Instantly
Elon Musk took this matter to Twitter, as he shared a short, but very clear tweet. “The bird is freed.” – Tesla’s CEO wrote alluding to Twitter’s logo.
According to various newsletters that investigated the matter thoroughly, Elon Musk will become the CEO of the company. Rumors state that the first thing that he will do is reverse the lifetime ban on all banned Twitter users. In fact, Musk already announced this back in May. He even listed this as one of the main reasons why he is getting into business with Twitter.
Twitter’s banned accounts consist of QAnon loyalists, COVID-19 conspiracy theorists, neo-Nazis, and former US president Donald Trump. So if ‘unbanning’ them is a clever thing to do, or not… we will see in the following months.
The deal for the Twitter acquisition is closed just before the Delaware judge’s deadline. Both sides communicated that if the deal is not closed until Friday, they will take the matter to court once again.
The public can expect many more changes in personnel in Twitter. Elon Musk already announced this back in May. According to him, the company needs a complete re-formation in order to function the way he visions it. The change of executives is just the first step to reaching Elon Musk’s vision.
Back in April, Elon Musk publicly blamed both Parag Agrawal and Vijaya Gadde for censorship. Massive reaction from the public met Elon Musk’s comments. As a result, both of the executives received bullying from numerous Twitter accounts.
The harassment mostly affected Vijaya Gadde, as most of the comments were racist, or misogynistic in nature. In addition to all this, there were numerous calls for Musk to fire her once he steps into office. Now, when he accomplished to do exactly that, hate speech and bullying comments appear on the platform once more. However, the difference is that now there is no one there to censor it.
