That is according to royal expert Celia Walden. The Princess of Wales and Prince William will pay homage at the event to those that have taken steps to take care of the environment.
And given that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reside in the United States, there were question marks over how Kate would be received.
After all, there is nothing to suggest that Kate will meet up with the Sussexes, as royal duties will take precedence. But by the looks of it, Middleton’s popularity has overtaken that of Meghan.
In her comments, Celia said: “She is the epitome of royalty and that is the reason why Americans have always gravitated the Royal Family because they are not celebrities.”
In contrast, Meghan has not managed to resonate with the American public in a similar way. This has primarily been on the basis of her vocal nature following her exit from the Royal Family in 2020.
The Duchess of Sussex made it clear that she was looking to avoid negative media scrutiny, as a reason for leaving. And yet, that has not been the case with Meghan giving numerous high-profile interviews.
In addition, this has damaged Meghan’s brand as she has not come across as an alternative to the royals, while her celebrity status has not skyrocketed.
Celia’s following comments confirmed as much: “You can’t be an A-list and air dirty laundry. If you look at our A-listers or America’s A-listers, you don’t hear about Beyonce’s marriage or any family issues.
“You don’t have George or Amal talking about what’s going on in their private life.” There are always going to be parallels between Kate and Meghan.
