The Duchess of Sussex was best known for her time on ‘Suits’ prior to marrying Prince Harry. While she has now branched out into other areas, as shown by her ‘Archetypes’ podcast, a return to acting is not on her radar.
This is entirely understandable since there is no financial pressure on her to do so following the lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Not only that, but Meghan’s brand has increased exponentially since then by virtue of her association with the Royal Family. In an interview with Variety, she said: “I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.
“[I] didn’t think [I’d] ever be in the entertainment industry again.” Nevertheless, Meghan has no problems should her children want to pursue a career in acting.
The mother of two has a long way to go before Archie and Lilibet have to consider their future. But in the meantime the fact that they are unlikely to be working royals has meant that alternatives have to be considered.
Therefore, if her children wanted to pursue acting, Meghan would fully support them. As a result, she could offer some much-needed advice in an otherwise very tough industry.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “I would say, ‘Great!. When you become a parent, you genuinely want your kids to find the things that bring them complete joy.
“But I want them to be able to carve out their own path. If it’s the entertainment industry, great. And also, good luck.”
Regardless of what her children decide to do, there will be an element of comparison with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children.
And that is something that Meghan cannot avoid but can do her best to prepare her children for. Time will tell what Archie and Lilibet end up pursuing.
