Last week saw a few busts out of the U.S Pacific Northwest, so let’s stop by Oregon where state troopers seized enough fentanyl to kill over three million people! That’s right, the Oregon State Police report that the seizure took place during a September 28, 2022 traffic stop.
Oregon State Troopers Seize Over 14 Pounds of Fentanyl — Enough to Kill 3 Million People
The car was stopped in Madras, Oregon for a simple traffic violation after 10 PM. Troopers became suspicious that the occupants were involved in drug trafficking and called for the drug-sniffing dog.
As expected, the dog was alerted to there possibly being drugs in the vehicle and a search was conducted. Whenever the drug dog comes out, the story has a high chance of turning out as you’d expect.
Troopers seized 14.48 pounds of drugs from the vehicle. A preliminary test pointed to the drugs being fentanyl powder. As always, it’s a drug that is common in drug trafficking now which means that it’s something authorities constantly encounter in various quantities.
Arizona natives Jesus Villalpando Rubio and Oscar Urias Haro—both 31-years-old—were arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on trafficking charges.
