Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly attempted to do Megxit via email.
Harry And Meghan Attempted Megxit Via Email-‘Markle Divorced Her Husband By Fedex So No Surprises There,’ Says Royal Fan
That is according to royal author Valentine Low in his book, ‘Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown.’
This revelation certainly indicates that relations between the Sussexes and the royals were not in a good place prior to the couple’s exit from the firm in 2020.
It is alleged that Harry and Meghan sought to instigate Megxit via an email that was sent to King Charles III. It is alleged that the couple had spent Christmas in Canada in 2019 with Archie and upon their return to the UK, that is when the email was apparently sent.
In the book, Valentine wrote: “[They wrote the] current set-up was not working for them, and they wanted to go and live in North America.
“[Harry was] under the impression that they could just sort it out by email before he and Meghan got back to London on January 6.”
Naturally, that did not go down very well since there would have been clear protocols in place for communicating such a thing. Not only that, but a decision such as this would have required the consultation of those around them, especially the family.
This may explain why the relations have now deteriorated so much. After all, from both points of view, it does not make for good reading.
The Sussexes could argue that they were not supported entirely with their exit, while their conduct could be seen as a clear disregard for the respect of the firm.
The fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter. A certain subset of people bashed Meghan on the basis that her prior track record suggested she was capable of behaving in this manner.
And they outlined the manner in which she had gone about her divorce with her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, where it is claimed she posted her engagement and wedding rings back to him.
One person wrote: “Markle divorced her husband by Fedex so no surprises there. It’s not so much cowardice as it is arrogance.”
