A reconciliation between Prince Harry and Prince William never occurred because of the former’s reluctance.
Harry Was Worried That Reconciliation Talks With William Would Get Leaked To The Press
That is according to royal author Valentine Low in his book entitled, “Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown.’ It is alleged William had attempted to reach out to Harry in order to see if they could patch things up.
But any chances of that happening were shut down when the Duke of Sussex allegedly backed out of a meeting. The decision to back out was apparently on the basis that William informed Harry that his private secretary would know that they had such a meeting.
As such, the Duke of Sussex was allegedly worried that this would be leaked to the press. That is when the meeting was cancelled. William had wanted to reach out following his brother and Meghan Markle’s interview in South Africa.
In his comment at the time, Harry stated: “We are certainly on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him [William], as I know he will always be there for me.”
Nevertheless, the same argument has been made against Harry. There have been claims that a reconciliation has not been possible due to Harry and Meghan’s tendency to speak with the press.
Their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview and Meghan’s disclosures with ‘The Cut’ were testament to that. Not only that, but there has been speculation over what the Sussexes will include in their Netflix docuseries.
Added to that, who can forget Harry’s upcoming tell-all memoir. The fans on social media felt that Harry was being treated harshly, though.
A certain subset of people felt that William was equally to blame for the poor relations. One person wrote: “Harry “terrified” that press would find out? More RF PR to make William look good.”
