Pretty Deadly stand ontop of the NXT tag team division, having recently unified the NXT & NXT UK Tag Team Championships. With Halloween Havoc just around the corner, they will soon find out who will challenge them. Tonight however, it’s time for a “State Of The Commonwealth Address” – as Kit Wilson & Elton Prince hope to get a message out to all their adoring fans. Suda Sha & Bryon Saxton would join Wade Barrett for commentary tonight with Vic Joseph out on his honeymoon.
Brawling Brutes Are Here To Challenge Pretty Deadly
Dressed like they’re in the 1800’s, Pretty Deadly would call themselves lords and viscounts. Call them whatever you want, they’re the NXT Tag Team Champions. We’d get a ‘Ye Olde Side Plate Check’, and they do say Pretty Deadly.
They’d say they made the voyage across from the UK to make NXT better, and that they did. New contenders are needed to try and match their skills, with teams hoping to reach the level of Pretty Deadly – seeing as they’ve beaten everyone.
Briggs & Jensen? Beat them. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade? Beat them. Creed Brothers? Beat them multiple times, and Damon Kemp is busy with them. The Dyad? Skip them, they creep Pretty Deadly out.
They would decree that Pretty Deadly have no challengers, so should have the belts forever. At this moment, the music of The Brawling Brutes would hit – with Ridge Holland and Butch in the building from Smackdown Live.
After Pretty Deadly would mouth off on social media, Holland & The Bruiserweight were here to give them a beating. They’d claim they were hacked by Kevin Owens – but the Brawling Brutes would rush the ring – and it’s Tuesday Night Fight Night! Pretty Deadly were run from the ring – and it’s clear there’s a shot in the NXT Tag Team Championships coming.
Following this chaos, Carmelo Hayes would hit the ring for a match against recent debut Oro Mensah. Hayes is irate that he’s not the NXT North American Champion, and has a chance to change that at Halloween Havoc. Mensah has the same chance, and Hayes is keen on perhaps making it a four way ladder match instead.
Hayes would have his wrist snatched as the match began, before he’d try and counter – but was taken down to the mat with two quick armdrags. Mensah would nail the dropkick to the face, before a headscissor takedown.
Hayes fled the ring – but Mensah kept the pressure on with a dive to the floor. Trick Williams would run a distraction, allowing Hayes to hit a DDT on the apron and gain the advantage in the ring. A snapmare into a superkick would be attempted, with Mensah getting the upper hand with a roll up for two.
Hayes would hit the springboard lariat for a near fall of his own, before trading blows with Mensah in the middle of the ring. He’d be launched with a back body drop, before a German Suplex was followed by a front flip heel kick. Lionsault would land, and Mensah was ready to end it.
Spinning Wheel kick got Trick Williams instead, and Hayes hit the codebreaker. Fade Away would land – and this one was over.
