Ricky Starks was able to win perhaps the three biggest matches of his career recently, taking down Lance Archer, Brian Cage and finally Ethan Page to win the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. He knows he’s got MJF at Winter Is Coming, but tonight he will look to keep building his momentum as he goes one on one with Ari Daivari of The Trustbusters. After MJF’s cowardly attack on William Regal – there will be few not rooting for Starks in two weeks at Winter Is Coming.
Ricky Starks Doesn’t
Before this match could begin, The Firm would come out… with Matt Hardy trying to steal the moment of Ethan Page. Next week, he intends to win the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale – and go on to defeat MJF for the ring, but only after Starks loses his match.
Daivari would attack Starks from behind, only to be thrown off. Starks would hit the ring and run Daivari down with a vicious spear. Roshambo would follow – and this match was already over. Starks intends to enter that same battle royale, and will look forward to back to back wins over MJF after he wins next week.
Willow Nightingale Claims Big Victory, Ruby Soho Returns In Her Hometown
Since being officially signed to a contract in AEW, Willow Nightingale has been one of the most consistent names on the roster. Tonight, she looks to take a big step towards another title shot as she goes one on one with Anna Jay of the Jericho Appreciation Society (Anna Jay.A.S if you will). Jay has been one of the more harsh names on the roster for a time now, and tonight could show that by choking Willow out.
Willow would be confident hitting the ring, running down Jay with a set of shoulder tackles. Low crossbody would get a two count – before Willow hit the running hip attack into the corner. Jay would be able to break free, and hit a Blockbuster off the middle rope for a one count.
Willow would get choked on the middle rope, and while the referee scolded Jay, Tay Melo got a cheap shot at ringside. Jay would keep the pressure on with some quick strikes and would look to apply the Queenslayer. Willow would avoid the sleeper hold with some strikes to the midsection, before a spinebuster for a two count.
Gory Bomb would Jay would follow, with Willow able to kick out. Willow would look for the Gutwrench Powerbomb, but Jay was able to counter into a pinfall for two. Jay took a heavy lariat before the Babe With The Powerbomb got the finish.
After the match – Ruby Soho would return, going after the woman who broke her nose in Tay Melo. She’d nail the Destination Unknown on the ramp – and I doubt that’s all she has in store for Tay Melo.
Jade Cargill Lays Down The Law
Back at AEW Full Gear 2022, Jade Cargill was finally able to reclaim her TBS Championship when she was able to defeat Nyla Rose. Red Velvet would make her return during that match, meaning Cargill was able to drop the dead weight that is Leila Gray. Tonight, Cargill will celebrate her victory as TBS Champion – and find out who wants to step up for the next title shot.
Cargill would reiterate that she chooses who is in the baddies, and is confused why Hogan & Sky were hanging out with Gray last weekend. If they want to keep standing by the TBS Champion, they need to fall in line. Cargill is the biggest star in the company, and her star is only getting brighter as she goes.
She puts asses in seats – and helps build careers. She’d once again call out Bow Wow saying his career has been a joke. Bow Wow would appear on screen, and said he’ll see her soon.
