Samoa Joe is a double champion after AEW Full Gear 2022, holding the TNT Championship and ROH World Television Championship. Tonight, he puts the TNT Championship on the line as he goes one on one with the newest hire of AEW, with AR Fox looking to make himself a champion on the same day as his signing. Joe has rekindled his old dominance, and tonight – AR Fox might just find he’s in the role of victim if he’s not careful.
Just before this match began, we’d get a sitdown interview between Blackpool Combat Club & Jericho Appreciation Society. During this, Wheeler Yuta would challenge ROH Pure Rules Champion Daniel Garcia to a title match – now set for Final Battle next month. Garcia won the belt from Yuta earlier this year, after Yuta got the win at Death Before Dishonor.
Samoa Joe Is The Self Proclaimed King Of Television
You don’t get much more different in styles than Joe vs. Fox, a high flyer vs. a technically sound brawler. Fox would find himself cornered before some tight jabs to the jaw, before breaking free and avoiding a lariat before dropping Joe with an enziguri. Joe would be sent to the floor and thought he sidestepped the dive, only for Fox to stick the landing.
Back in the ring, Joe would hit a rolling leg sweep before a running senton for a two count. Fox would get his neck cranked in the middle of the ring, with Joe letting his prey free to inflict more punishment. Joe would hit a big headbutt before a sidewalk slam for a two count.
Fox would catch Joe with some quick kicks and a snap cutter. 450 Splash would manage a two count, before Joe would casually side step a dive. A stiff elbow smash and the Muscle Buster would follow, and this one was over. After the match, Joe would take the microphone and welcome fans to a new era.
He’s the one true King of Television with the TNT & ROH World TV Champions. Wardlow would appear on the screen saying that Joe can call himself whatever he wants, as he’s coming for his title – and reminded Joe that he’s just living in Wardlow’s world.
The Birth Of The New Unholy Alliance
During the main event of AEW Full Gear 2022 – MJF would defeat Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship… with some help from William Regal and a set of brass knuckles. He was not around for Dynamite last week, but tonight the World Champion is here to speak about how that match ended – and address his upcoming challenger of Ricky Starks ahead of Winter Is Coming.
William Regal would hit the ring first, knowing Jon Moxley was removed from the building due to a brawl with Hangman Page. MJF would follow, and there was a platform in the ring with something on top. He’d ask the fans to shut up, before explaining how his unholy alliance with Regal came to be.
Regal sent MJF an email after The Firm attacked – saying that MJF has grown weak, while he’s got the potential to be the greatest villain of the time. MJF needed some help getting there, and instead of grabbing the Dynamite Diamond Ring – but the brass one. He’d listen to this, knowing Regal right. Regal wanted MJF to not only win, but leave an emotional scar on Jon Moxley.
MJF Unveils A New Version Of The AEW World Championship
When it comes to The Firm, he respects what they did – they saw weakness and pounced. MJF would now address the belt, and he promised change. Out with the old – in with the new. This old belt just reminds him of the men who came before – and as far as MJF is concerned, it’s garbage.
He’d unveil a new AEW World Championship, with Burberry patterned leather. Atleast it doesn’t spin. MJF would say that only one man deserves to be champion, and it’s him. There’s no one who will take his belt from MJF, not Eddie Kingston, not Ricky Starks, and not Bryan Danielson.
According to MJF, Bryan Danielson couldn’t wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. Regal tried his best to make Danielson something, but some people can’t be helped. Everyone on the roster will never know what it’s like to be on top, as MJF intends to be champion until the bidding war of 2024, where he intends to use that belt as a bargaining tactic to get the biggest deal in professional wrestling history.
MJF hopes it’s a deal with Nick Khan & Triple H, not Tony Khan. He would even choose to go to Hollywood instead, if the money is right. MJF knows that a lot of fans were happy to see him become champion, and that’s great – but for those who weren’t happy, he knows they’ll still be watching.
He doesn’t intend to wrestle more, and if you want to see him defend? Fork out the money for a PPV. MJF is going to have a reign that makes Bruno Sammartino roll in his grave – as his reign of terror has just begun. MJF would finish by punching out Regal with Brass Knuckles – finally going that extra length.
