Ahead of Full Gear, we will see Swerve Strickland & Anthony Bowens mix it up in singles action. They’ve met three times now in tag team matches, but tonight – they don’t have their partners to rely upon. Bowens in particular is not viewed as a top singles wrestler in the company, with the vast majority of his matches being alongside Max Caster. Meanwhile, Swerve is a former singles champion of WWE – and has taken the likes of current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White to his limits. The deck is stacked against Bowens tonight, who will need to remind everyone why he’s known as a ‘five tool player’.

Swerve Strickland Gets Win After Suffering Through Diss Track

Before this match, we’d get a new music video from The Acclaimed dissing Swerve In Our Glory, featuring Paul Wight as Captain Insano. Once again, Max Caster proves he’s legit in more than just the ring. Before the bell – Billy Gunn once again attacked Swerve, still angry about his shattered hands. Caster & Gunn were taken to the back, but Bowens was able to land a right hand to the face of Swerve.

A step up bulldog in the ring would follow, getting a two count. Twisting DDT out of the ropes would be set, but Swerve was able to block and sent Bowens to the floor – before diving onto him. A pump kick to the jaw would follow, before a backdrop into the crowd. The cravate would be applied, Swerve trying to choke Bowens out.

Back in the ring, Swerve would nail a superkick – before going after the arm on the mat. Bowens would refuse to quit, before taking a kick to the spine. Swerve Stomp was blocked, with Bowens tripping Swerve up. Some heavy strikes and an angle slam would follow, with Swerve kicking out.

Swerve would roll Bowens off the mat and into a brainbuster, before the House Call kick would find a near fall. Shoulder breaker would set up the Swerve Stomp, getting another near fall. Another shoulder breaker was followed by the JML Driver, and this one was over.

Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs & Wardlow Brawl It Out

Samoa Joe is done playing second fiddle to Wardlow. Last week on AEW Dynamite, he’d rock Wardlow in the face with his ROH World Television Championship, essentially declaring war on the TNT Champion. Meanwhile, Powerhouse Hobbs was watching – keen on a shot at Wardlow himself. Tonight, we get answers from Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe hit the ring with murderous intent behind his eyes, and ROH World Television Championship in hand. Tony Schiavone would say we saw the end of WarJoe – before offering the microphone to Joe. After some threats to Schiavone, he’d comment on how some felt it was a shocker – it was unexpected.

It’s not shocking for a man to refuse to be a victim, to take action. Wardlow was running his mouth, and ignoring the most dangerous man in the room week after week. He’s not a victim who waits for a storm to hit, instead he strikes first. If anyone has a problem with that, take it up with him.

Hobbs would congratulate Joe for catching up after weeks of Hobbs already beating Wardlow down. Joe welcomed him to the ring for a fight, before the music of Wardlow hit. We’d get a three way brawl, with the locker room trying to stop these titans from tearing the house down. Wardlow would be left in the ring, and showed his speed with a dive over the ropes onto both rivals.

Who would win this potential Triple Threat? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
