Jake Paul has been in the sports news for quite some time now. After the fiasco with his failed opponents Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr, he will face the UFC legend Anderson Silva later this month. The event is to take place on the 29th of October in Phoenix, Arizona.
Anderson Silva surprisingly accepted the fight and will face the less experienced YouTube boxer in what is to be the biggest fight in Jake Paul’s career. While the reason why his previous two opponents refused to fight him, Anderson Silva seems OK with the conditions that Jake Paul has put for him.
Is Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva Rigged? – Will The Spider Go Down For A Good Payment?
When Jake Paul’s ‘Most Valuable Promotion’ revealed the news, UFC, and MMA fans, in general, were surprised to see the legendary ‘Spider’ accepting to face someone in the ranks of Jake Paul. When the official poster for the event was released and they held their first press conference it was clear that both of them are serious about what is to happen.
Boxing fans are very doubtful of Jake Paul’s skills in the ring. That is the reason they are rumoring that this would be a rigged fight. That Anderson Silva agreed to go down for a good amount of money. Aside from the rumors of a rigged fight, boxing fans are blaming the duo for ‘destroying’ the sport of boxing. They see this as a competition between two non-boxers, fighting to add to their non-existing boxing record.
“What an absolute joke. Making a mockery of such a beautiful sport.” – one boxing fan commented on the poster for the fight.
“Why does everybody think Spider can win? This is a fixed fight. Lol. He already received payment before this even start.” – another one noticed. “Fair or not. If Paul wins, I will officially believe that he pays off all his fights to win, that he riggs them.”
While most of the rumors surrounding the event claim that this wouldn’t be something to wait for, some of Anderson Silva’s fans claim that he does have a chance to win the bout. According to unofficial analysts and experts, Anderson Silva has a better chance to win the fight. He is a better striker and he is far more experienced than the Youtuber.
“Silva can box and he can put down this Youtuber into the canvas.” – one Silva fan noticed. “Silva is a really good boxer, Jake’s first loss by a 50-year-old UFC fighter is gold.”
In the end, one thing is for sure. If Jake Paul wins the fight, he might receive a chance to fight some bigger name in boxing. However, if he loses, he will be degraded and presented as what he really is. An amateur boxer, and a Youtube star. As a result, it would be very difficult for him to land another good opponent for quite some time.
