King Charles III was allegedly attached to his childhood teddy bear into his adulthood.
King Charles III’s Teddy Bear Fascination Revealed As Comparisons Drawn With Prince Andrew’s Stuffed Toys
That is according to royal author Christopher Andersen in his book entitled, ‘The King: The Life of Charles III.’
According to the book, the current monarch’s valet Michael Fawcett had been put in charge of looking after the teddy bear, despite the fact that Charles was in his 40s.
And at one moment, things had gotten so severe that the bear needed some repairs. This allegedly resulted in former royal nanny Mabel Anderson coming out of retirement, so that the repairs could be made.
And by the looks of it, Mabel was the only person trusted to touch the teddy bear. In his book, Christopher wrote: “[Mabel] was the only human being allowed to take needle and thread to Prince Charles’ teddy bear.
“He was well into his forties, and every time that teddy needed to be repaired, you would think it was his own child having major surgery.”
This naturally begs the question: why was Charles so attached to this? Well, outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it could have been due to the following reasons.
First of all, the teddy bear may have some sentimental value. As such, if it was gifted to him by someone in the family, then that would make this behaviour plausible.
Secondly, perhaps it represents some of the happiest times of his upbringing which is why he may have wanted to cherish it. The fans on social media were disturbed by this revelation.
And in the process of doing so, people began to make comparisons with Prince Andrew’s fascination with stuffed toys. One person wrote: “What is with these weirdos and their teddy bear fixation?
“Prince/Perv Andrew had a whole elaborate setup of dozens of stuffed animals the help had to arrange just so on his bed.”
