At this point, Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI could practically write the book on how to deal with House of Torture. Collectively known as Bishamon, Goto & YOSHI-HASHI were able to win this tournament last year, and followed that up by winning the IWGP Tag Team Championships from Dangerous Tekkers at Wrestle Kingdom. They met EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi in the finals of last year’s tournament, but this time around – they meet on the first night of the tournament.
Bishamon Add New Level To Their Tag Team Presentation
Bishamon came to the ring with a new theme song to get the fans excited, clad in traditional Japanese garb. Meanwhile, Takahashi & EVIL planned an attack but were well scouted – being dropped instead. Takahashi would take a hip toss senton from Bishamon, and even Dick Togo would find himself attacked.
Goto would have his hand bitten, before being sent face first into a mysteriously exposed corner. YOSHI-HASHI would follow, meeting the steel spine first. On the floor, YOSHI-HASHI would be driven into the timekeepers table, before Takahashi would set up the leg drop in the ring on Goto for a two count.
Goto would be choked with the boot of Takahashi, before EVIL threw him back to the floor and distracted the referee with Togo getting some cheap shots in. Back in the ring, EVIL would get a taste of his own medicine, hitting the exposed steel and being dropped with a Russian Leg Sweep. YOSHI-HASHI got the tag and started to hit some of his signature strikes before a neckbreaker for a two count.
Beating Up House of Torture With A Little Help From Their Friends
Takahashi would take the delayed dropkick on the ropes, falling onto Togo on the floor. EVIL would try to hit the Magic Killer with the help of the referee, but had to settle for a Fisherman Buster. Goto would get the tag alongside Takahashi, hitting the spinning wheel kick into the running bulldog.
Takahashi was ran down with a lariat, before EVIL would help to block the Violent Flash from Bishamon. EVIL & Togo would take the referee down, and Togo would start to choke Goto out. YOH would make the save, with SHO coming out to cancel him out. All of House of Torture would stomp Goto, before Lio Rush made the save – hitting 3K on SHO.
There were doubts on if Rush was dedicated to CHAOS, and while he was a step slow hitting the ring tonight – he proved that he is ready to unite with this faction, perhaps full time. Finally, Bishamon would hit the Violent Flash into Shoto for the dominant victory.
Aussie Open Finally Show Japan What They Are Capable Of
Aussie Open are finally having their first traditional tag team match on Japanese soil, but their history as a team already has many looking at them as favorites to win the whole tournament. With a rematch against FTR at Wrestle Kingdom as a motivating factor, Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis will look to start this tournament with a bang. However, many have learned that facing Toru Yano in a NJPW tournament is bad news, and add in Hiroshi Tanahashi as his partner? Aussie Open would be wise to not do any counting of chickens before they hatch.
Back to looking like some characters right from BeBop High School, Yano & Tanahashi were ready to show they’re just some delinquents. Tanahashi isn’t a rule breaker often, but Yano is a bad influence. They’d taunt in the ring, with Aussie Open striking first and being sent to the floor before more taunting. Fletcher would take a back elbow and a crossbody splash from Tanahashi before Yano got the tag alongside Davis.
Yano would try to take the corner pad off, with Davis stopping him before being sent across the ring. Davis was thrown the corner pad, and he’d pass it to the referee and get slapped in the back of the head. A four way hair pull would follow, with the referee asking everyone to cut it out. Gideon Grey looked on in envy, wishing he had hair to be pulled as Tanahashi & Yano were thrown to the floor.
Bebop Tag Team Get Overwhelmed
Aussie Open would hit tandem backdrops onto the apron, before Yano was thrown back into the ring. Fletcher would hit a PK before Davis hit an XL Senton for a two count. Aussie Open would take turns stomping Yano out, as the crowd would get behind BeBop Tag Team. A scoop slam to Yano would follow, before getting four boots stuffed in his face before a two count.
Aussie Open had cut the ring in half with surgical precision, with Tanahashi being mocked as Yano might as well been miles away. Fletcher would be dropped with a heavy hair pull, and Tanahashi would be able to get the tag. Tanahashi would nail the flying forearm smash to the face, before a set of Dragon Screws to Aussie Open.
Fletcher would hit a Half & Half Suplex, dumping Tanahashi on his neck. Davis would get the tag, hitting Sandwich Elbows on Tanahashi before Fletcher would be hit with a sudden Twist & Shout Neckbreaker. Yano got the tag and rolled Davis up for a two count, before Fletcher tripped him up. Aussie Open would get duped by Yano, ran into each other before Davis was thrown to the corner.
Tanahashi hit a slingblade, and Yano would try to end things but took another XL Senton from Davis instead. Dental Plan would be blocked, before a pair of School Boy roll ups from Bebop Tag Team. Aussie Open would ram Yano & Tanahashi into each other with spinebusters before Dental Plan for the near fall. Finally, Corealis would land, and Aussie Open claim their first win of the tournament.
