LA Dojo will find themselves well represented in World Tag League this year, as Alex Coughlin & Gabriel Kidd enter the field. Both men have graduated from the dojo, and tonight will go head to head with one of the most experienced teams in the field of ten. Representing TMDK, Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls are set to remind everyone why WWE recruited them as a top tag team. Both teams want to kick off their tournaments with a big victory, with TMDK being a massive hurdle in the path of Kidd & Coughlin. Simply put: Back in 2013 TMDK were voted Tag Team of the Year by Tokyo Sports – and tonight they look to get back to that level.

TMDK Show Uncanny Tag Team Chemistry

Coughlin kicked things off with ex-CHAOS member Nicholls, ducking a lariat on the ropes. They’d trade shoulder tackles, neither man keen on giving up ground – but Nicholls forced Coughlin down twice before a delayed vertical suplex. Kidd & Haste would get tags, with Kidd dropped with a snapmare into a stalling dropkick to the neck.

Kidd would respond by catching Haste with a big Monkey Flip before a double shoulder tackle from LA Dojo. Coughlin would hit some stiff chops in the corner, before a miscue would see Kidd take a chop instead. TMDK would trip up Kidd before a sliding dropkick to the face, working on isolating Kidd in the corner.

The ring was cut in half, with Kidd unable to fight free with the elbow smashes. Suplex from Nicholls would get a two count, before he was dragged to the TMDK corner. A hip drop to the knee would follow, with some stiff chops and a choke on the middle rope close after. The backdrop mixed with a neckbreaker from TMDK would get a two count, before Kidd was kicked out to the floor.

Alex Coughlin Makes A Key Mistake

Kidd would remain in the fight, able to survive a barrage of chops to get the tag to Coughlin. The Android would lift both members of TMDK with a double backdrop, making it look easy in the process. A Fall Away Suplex with a bridge got a two count, before Nicholls nailed a snap DDT. Haste would hit a Saito Suplex on Kidd, before a launching backdrop on Coughlin.

Last Ride powerbomb would follow, with Coughlin barely kicking out. TMDK would set up a tag team tower of doom, with Haste taking a powerbomb while suplexing Coughlin – and being pulled into a pinfall. Coughlin would survive, hitting a Black Hole Slam. Kidd would get the tag and hit some Mongolian Chops before an Exploder Suplex, before sending both halves of TMDK to the floor for a moonsault.

Back in the ring Kidd would hit a brainbuster, with Nicholls saving the match. Coughlin & Kidd would hit back to back suplexes on Haste before posing. Kidd would be powerbombed, with Haste rolling out of the way. Tank Buster from TMDK would be set, with Coughlin dropped first. Thunder Valley would follow, and TMDK earn their first two points.

Suzuki-gun Prove To Be More Akin To Monsters

Lance Archer & Minoru Suzuki are simply put, a horrifying tag team to face. One half of this team is enough to tear down most tag teams, and they have generally found a lot of success in World Tag League since making their debut in the 2011 tournament. Tonight, they look to start their path of destruction with the Tokyo Dome in their sights, with the first potential victims being former IWGP Tag Team Champions Chase Owens & Bad Luck Fale.

Fale & Archer met in the G1 Climax, Fale winning by count-out – and Archer would start this match by calling Fale out. They’d clash in the middle of the ring with shoulder tackles, neither man wanting to be the first to fall. Archer would tag to Suzuki, with Owens looking at this as a chance to prove himself once again. Suzuki would be sent to the floor and punched in the face, after he’d try to break Owens fingers.

Back in the ring, Owens would be near knocked out with a forearm smash. Archer & Fale were using Young Lions as weapons on the floor, before Archer & Suzuki would get a double fishhook to the mouth of Owens. Gotch Style Piledriver would be blocked in the ring, with Owens pissing Suzuki off with a forearm smash – and being struck twice as hard.

Owens would finally drop Suzuki with a lariat, and made the tag to Fale. Body blows from Fale were more effective on Suzuki, before some running splashes in the corner. A running elbow drop would get a two count, before The Grenade would be blocked into a cross armbreaker. Archer would find the tag, staggering Fale with a lariat – and sending him to the floor with a second.

    Everybody Dies

Archer teased a dive to the floor, but Fale interrupted with a shoulder tackle. Owens would get the tag and hit some running knee smashes on Archer, only getting a one count. Archer would look for a chokeslam, but took two C-Triggers to the jaw before attempting a Package Piledriver.

Suzuki would make the save, and Archer would run Owens down with a massive lariat. Owens would be walked to the middle of the ring for the Black Out, and judging by this match – it will take an army to take down Suzuki & Archer over the next month.
