Prince Harry is allegedly trying to come across as a victim with his memoir entitled ‘Spare.’
Prince Harry Accused Of Playing The ‘Victim’ With His Memoir-‘Might As Well Have Called It Victim,’ Says Jonathan Sacerdoti
That is according to royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti. This claim is in reference to the notion that Harry had been viewed as a spare part of the Royal Family in comparison to Prince William. And this was something that Princess Diana had allegedly done her best to guard against.
While that may have been the case, the title of the memoir would suggest that Harry is tapping into that idea with the theme of his book. But that has not gone down very well since it demonstrates the Duke of Sussex’s inability to move on with his life.
In his comments, Jonathan said: “One would hope that by now, especially with therapy and a new life abroad away from the duties he once had, he’d have moved on and not felt the need to title his book that way.
“He might as well have called it ‘victim’. It’s a catchy and clever title but quite sad.” Much in the same way, this is an accusation that Meghan Markle has also been branded by.
She has been accused of pandering to the idea of victimhood to the point where she has come across as self-centred. This was most notably seen in response to the comments in which Meghan stated that she had not viewed ambition negatively until she began dating Harry.
In response to those comments, royal expert Kinsey Schofield did not hold back on Meghan’s tendency to complain. Kinsey remarked: “I think ambition is a great word. Meghan often dwells in victimhood.
“She was clearly ambitious before she married Harry.” Ultimately, the memoir should be judged on its own merits without any preconceived notions.
But if it does have the impact of coming across in an entitled light, then Harry will not do himself any favours when it comes to public opinion. Time will tell.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
