That is according to his friend Dame Jane Goodall. Harry does have a connection with Africa since this was the place where he had allegedly been spending a lot of time with Meghan Markle prior to their marriage.
So much so that it is claimed that advisers close to Harry were attempting to create a role for him in the region on behalf of the Commonwealth.
And by the looks of it, Harry was very serious indeed. In her comments, Jane said: “He wanted to bring Archie up in Africa, running barefoot with African children.”
Fast forward to the present, nothing could be further from the truth. The Sussexes have ultimately settled in Montecito, California, with a lifestyle that has not been consistent with the earlier claims. In addition, Meghan has in fact offended South Africa with her comments.
During her interview with ‘The Cut,’ she controversially claimed that a South African cast member of the Lion King had informed her that people rejoiced in the streets when she married into the Royal Family just as they had done when Nelson Mandela was freed from prison.
But since the only cast member that fitted that description stated he had not met Meghan, this was not a very good look.
In addition, during Meghan’s comments on her ‘Archetypes’ podcast, she also controversially referred to the accommodation on her royal tour of South Africa as a ‘housing unit.’
The fans on social media bashed Meghan in light of this claim. A certain subset of people felt that Meghan was the person who had prevented this from happening.
One person wrote: “M was never going to let that happen. She was promised the money and celebrity life in [the] US, and H had to follow. He still could go to Africa after a divorce.”
