Queen Elizabeth II is greatly missed, according to the Queen Consort Camilla, who used her first speech in her new role to express her affection.
Queen Consort Camilla Pays Homage To Queen Elizabeth II-‘Greatly Missed By Us All’
The Royal Family have been deeply affected by the death of the Queen, she said, reflecting on a reception at Buckingham Palace for winners of the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2022.
The late monarch was patron of The Royal Commonwealth Society since 1952, and this was something that Camilla was vocal about as it showed Queen Elizabeth II’s vision in giving back to those in need.
In her comments, Camilla said: “I cannot begin without paying tribute to my dear mother-in-law, her late Majesty, who is much in our thoughts today and who is so greatly missed by us all.”
The event was attended by the competition winners and their respective families. The children came from a variety of countries, including the UK and Australia.
They were aged between 13-17, all with the aim of writing about leadership. And this is something that Queen Elizabeth II was fully aware of.
She had managed to reign over the nation for 70 years, which was characterised by the celebration of her Platinum Jubilee. And in the process of doing so, she became the longest serving monarch in British history.
And that is why the current monarch King Charles III will have a lot of work to do. The fans on social media did not have a lot of time for Camilla.
This was simply on the grounds that she had not held herself in high regard with her prior behaviour that resulted in an affair during Charles’ marriage with Princess Diana.
One person wrote: “Home wrecker,” while another person stated: “Camilla will only ever be an Adulteress!” Queen Elizabeth II has left behind a massive legacy, and this is something that Camilla has not managed to do yet.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
