The comments were made in relation to the circumstances that played out prior to them allegedly going on a date. Amid the course of that process, it appears that Raquel was not aware that Oliver had a wife, Samantha Saunders.
Naturally, that was not a good look as it seemed to suggest that they were hooking up behind Samantha’s back.
And that is something that Raquel wanted to clear up by letting everyone know in no uncertain terms that nothing could have been further from the truth.
In her comments, she said: “I would like to clarify that I did not know Oliver had a wife. He misled me. I was in Vegas this year just trying to have a good time being single, and we didn’t hook up either, by the way.
“Just wanted to clarify all that.” Not only that, but the timing of the discovery was also problematic. Raquel expanded on how she found out that Oliver was married when she was getting ready to grab dinner and go on the date.
As such, once that became all clear, she wanted to move on from the incident as soon as possible. This is especially since Samantha allegedly stated that they may have made out together on the set of Vanderpump Rules.
Raquel added: “I was getting ready to go on a date with him when I found out he had a wife, so it completely changed the dynamic of the day and my mindset going into that.
“It was a stressful day, stressful two days afterwards.” The fans on social media, however, were not convinced by Raquel’s comments.
A certain subset were of the view that it was hard to believe she did not know that Oliver was married since it was public knowledge. One person wrote: “I don’t believe she didn’t know sorry!”
