‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers was torn on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters)’s return as the storyline had promise, but we expected it to be drawn out beyond its natural limits like they often do.
The writers have injected new life into her storyline and it’s invigorated it after her series of reveals wore us out, and now it looks like there may be a happy ending for her.
But is it a mistake?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jack shouldn’t do it
To say Diane hurt Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) deeply is an understatement and it hasn’t been forgotten.
While Jack is constantly criticized for “falling into her clutches” he’s done no such thing as he’s worked to protect Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and others from Diane and any backlash that comes as a result.
He expected family to stand by family, but that didn’t work like he’d hoped, though everyone is working for what they view is the best for the family.
The problem is that when Jack opens his heart, he’s going to go all in on Diane and that’ll be a nightmare for the Mean Girls Club.
There are many reasons he shouldn’t allow himself to draw so close to her, but all of them have to do with what she did before and not who she currently is or her current actions.
Allowing Kyle to decide to let her into his life is one thing, but for Jack to allow her into his could create all sorts of chaos if a select few are right.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Let him be happy
But they’ve been wrong so far as Diane has shown her top priority is to her son, and that’s a far cry from the type of person she used to be.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers thinks it plays into Jack’s storyline where he’s been looking for love for a few years but always falls short for one reason or another.
Diane’s redemption solves two problems as she’s proven to be reliable to Jack, and she’s part of his past that made him happy.
It’ll be good for them and Kyle if they get back together and the writers let them live happily ever after instead of finding some strife to keep Jack single and yearning for love.
In this regard, we think the storyline will separate from the copy and paste from the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) storyline as it should have a happy ending.
Do you think Jack and Diane should live happily ever after, or is there another angle we haven’t seen yet? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
