Earlier this year, we would see a messy split between WWE & Sasha Banks. Alongside Naomi, Banks would walk out of the company after a disagreement regarding their booking as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, and while there was a chance for WWE to get Banks back, the money wasn’t right. Her WWE contract expires later this month, and is expected to make her way around the world to start the next stage of her career.
Dax Harwood: “She Feels Slighted and She Has a Reason to Feel That Way”
While speaking on the “FTR with Dax Harwood” podcast, Harwood would speak about Sasha Banks, and how her passion for the industry might get her a bad reputation.
“I think that, just like me, I feel that sometimes she gets a bad rep because of how passionate she is and how much she wants. You know, she wants it all, but she wants to work for it. That’s the same with us. Like, I want everything in this business, but I want to work for it and I want you to know that I’m going to work hard for you, and that’s her, man. She knows what she deserves, and she knows what she’s earned, and she works her ass off to get it, and if she doesn’t get it, she feels slighted and she has a reason to feel that way. Huge star, huge heart, beautiful human being, the greatest woman wrestler of all time. I think she’s just incredible.”
Sasha Banks Is Set To Appear At Wrestle Kingdom 17
Right now, Banks is expected to show up during the upcoming New Japan Pro Wrestling event in Tokyo Dome, Wrestle Kingdom 17. The reported plans include her showing up following the IWGP Women’s Championship match between KAIRI & Tam Nakano, and challenge the winner for another upcoming NJPW show, likely Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Yokohama Arena.
There is also speculation that Banks will be making her AEW debut in 2023, with many feeling she will be the mystery tag team partner of Saraya on the January 11th show at The Forum in Los Angeles. Neither NJPW or AEW have advertised Banks yet, with her WWE contract ending around December 31st. FTR will defend the IWGP Tag Team Championships against World Tag League winners Bishamon at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
