This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, we would see one of the best performances from Ethan Page since he signed with the company in 2021. Going one on one with Bryan Danielson, Page would show that he can hang with one of the best in the world – showing his improvements in a fantastic match. Despite coming into AEW with years of experience, Page realized he had more to learn – and has worked hard to improve while making great use of legends offering advice backstage.
Ethan Page Has Been Helped By Legends Backstage In AEW
While speaking with 99.9 The Point, Ethan Page would name the four men who have helped him improve the most in AEW. After naming Sting, Arn Anderson, and Jerry Lynn – he’d go into detail on how Jim Ross has helped.
“The older I get, the more I am relating to things that I didn’t understand when I was younger and it’s changing my game a lot and bringing different aspects to my matches. Those three guys, I’ll say Jim Ross too. Those four have been a big part in kind of molding me to the performer I am for AEW. Whether they know it or not, comments in passing or advice they’ve given or affirmation or reassurance that I’m on the right path or doing the right thing. They’ve all been very helpful and integral to my success in the company.
He signed The Rock to his contract. For him to compliment me on Dynamite as much as he does is the greatest because I know the talent that he’s brought to the table. For him to think that I’m one of those potential talents is huge. It definitely motivates me in many aspects. He’s a guy that has worded things in a different way or presented things in a different way that has been very eye-opening, helpful, and beneficial to me, especially getting people in the arena to boo me out of the building. He’s definitely a guy that has given me a lot of tools to succeed.”
Only Going To Improve Further In 2023
Going into 2023, Ethan Page has established himself as an upper-midcard heel on the AEW roster. With MJF as the AEW World Champion, it’s hard to see another heel being massively elevated, but there is a very good chance we see Page claim either the TNT or AEW All-Atlantic Championship by this time next year. Page continues to improve week after week, and truly has become one of their most consistent performers.
