Over the course of 2022, we saw the Impact Wrestling women’s division maintain their position as one of the best in North America. From the excellent matches of Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace, to the retirement tour of Mickie James, to the rise of Gisele Shaw – they’re set up their future and honoured their past. Many hope to see 2023 as a star making year for Gisele Shaw, and that would fall in line with her overall goals in the company.
Giselle Shaw Wants To Inspire The Next Generation, Also Wants To Win Gold
While speaking with industry veteran Vickie Guerrero for her “Excuse Me” podcast, Shaw would have chance to speak on her goals for the future in Impact Wrestling. Simply put, she wants to help the next generation of rising talent, and maybe become a champion. Shaw would have the following to say.
“I don’t have a preference, singles or a tag team. I’m just super happy that I’m there, at IMPACT Wrestling, and I just want to leave a legacy where I’m inspiring and educating the next generation because I feel like what I’m doing now, I’m representing a community, my country, the Philippines, and Canada, obviously.
So I just want to be able to show the younger generation that it’s okay, that you can do it if you just go after your dreams, you you can achieve whatever you want. I don’t really want to put that pressure on myself. Obviously, I want to be Knockouts World Champion one day, I want to be Knockouts Tag Team Champion one day, but I feel like the universe has a plan for everyone, and I just need to keep focused and keep delivering. When the time comes, then I’ll just celebrate like a champ.”
Shaw met Jordynne Grace in a match for the Knockouts Championship on the November 10th episode of Impact Wrestling, but was unsuccessful in winning the belt at that time. It’s expected that Shaw will find another chance in 2023, potentially even as part of a PPV event.
