Catch 2/2 came into the Super Junior Tag League as the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions – and would thrive under the pressure. Another team who has thrived is the Impact Wrestling duo of Chris Bey & Ace Austin. We already know the CHAOS unit of Lio Rush & YOH have made the finals for December 14th, and the winner of this match will join them there.
Everything Is On The Line As Two Top Teams Clash
Akira would start things off with Austin, being run down with a shoulder tackle. Austin would be sent out from the ring, and he’d briefly speak with Bey. TJP tagged in alongside Bey, able to take Bey down with an armdrag before being taken into a headscissors. TJP would manage to bridge out, and hit a dropkick. Akira would hit the ring with a dropkick to Bey, getting a two count.
Bey would set up Akira for a kick from Austin, who hit the ring for a German Suplex. Akira would be hit with a very fancy back rake in the BULLET CLUB corner, with TJP trying to make the save and almost tasting Poetry in Motion instead. He’d manage to set up a springboard splash to Austin, before Akira was again taken into the BULLET CLUB corner and have his back raked.
Austin would set up a Russian Leg Sweep, with Bey kicking the leg of Akira out to complete the move before a standing moonsault press. Akira would be able to hit a leg lariat, and nearly made the tag before Austin yanked TJP off the apron. TJP would finally get the tag moments later, quickly hitting a springboard forearm.
Austin would be caught with a Tornado DDT in the corner, before Catch 2/2 nailed the Alley Oop facebuster. Akira would be lured into a double knee smash from BULLET CLUB, before setting up Austin across the top rope for a Mamba Splash to the back. TJP would set up a Final Cut, with Akira driving Austin down with a double stomp for a two count.
Chris Bey & Ace Austin Punch Their Ticket To The Finals
Austin fired back with a springboard kick in the ring, just missing Akira before landing the roundhouse kick and collapsing. Bey would be taken up the shoulders of Akira for a doomsday device, only for Austin to help him down before a spinning reverse Death Valley Driver. Austin would hit the House of Cards in the middle of the ring, but Akira made the save.
TJP would manage a School Boy driver, getting a near fall on Bey before making the tag to Akira for the tag. Bey would be launched across the ring with a dropkick before Speedfire landed for a two count. TJP would take out Austin, before setting up the Two by Two kick – with Bey able to dodge.
Austin would launch Bey into the double cutter before hitting Akira with The Fold. TJP was taken out with the Soar To Glory – and Akira was finished with the Small Package Driver. The finals of Super Junior Tag League 2022 will be Lio Rush & YOH vs. Ace Austin & Chris Bey.
