Two top teams in the Super Junior Tag League field will clash here tonight, as Alex Zayne & El Lindaman take on BUSHI & Titan. Both teams have a 4-1 record, and have a chance to hit double digits in this match – a first for Super Junior Tag League. SAUCEHEARTS will have a clear power edge, but no one has been able to match the insane speed of BUSHI & Titan yet on this tour.
SAUCEHEARTS Match Speed With Raw Power
Lindaman & Titan would kick this match off, hitting some stiff strikes in the middle of the ring. BUSHI tried to make the save, only to be cut down as well. Zayne would vault over Lindaman into a dropkick on BUSHI, before Lindaman hit a running foot stomp on Titan. He’d go up top for a splash, but missed his target.
Titan would hit a front suplex into a low superkick, getting a two count for his efforts. BUSHI got a tag and would apply a tight chinlock on Lindaman, attacking his nose along the way. Titan & BUSHI would work on the leg of Lindaman, while keeping Zayne off the apron. Lindaaman would catch Titan with a snap takedown into a DDT – and got Zayne in.
Heavy lariats would follow, with Zayne setting both Titan & BUSHI up for the Front Flip Leg Drop. They’d be set up in the corner for a Hurricanrana & German Suplex, with BUSHI able to block before taking a dropkick instead. Titan would land on his feet out of Baja Blast, before Lindaman got the tag and was sent to the floor for an assisted springboard crossbody.
Zayne would be hit with the lariat from Titan, but was able to block the Codebreaker from BUSHI. Titan would dive into an Exploder Suplex, before rolling to the floor and being crushed by a big dive. BUSHI was left alone, and Taco Driver ended this match in clear fashion.
Wild Hips Are Fired Up
Wild Hips were on a losing streak, but Clark Connors was able to cut Kevin Knight down to get him and Ryusuke Taguchi back on the right track. Tonight they have their biggest match of the tournament as they go up against the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions in Catch 2/2. Having won the belts from Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato, Taguchi will be extra motivated to get a measure of revenge tonight.
Connors would kick things off against TJP, two different generations of LA Dojo trainees. TJP would take Connors down with a headscissor takedown but was unable to hold him. A set of stiff shoulder tackles would drop the champions, before Taguchi helped to throw TJP from the ring. Akira took some hip attacks in the ring, before TJP made the save.
Taguchi would send them running crisscross across the ring – before Akira was pounced into TJP with the Jeep Flip. Trophy Kill attempt would be blocked – before Akira was launched into a knee strike on Connors. TJP was able to catch Connors in the middle of the ring with an Indian Deathlock, before Taguchi ran in and was dropped with a Russian Leg Sweep – TJP wrenching down on the knee of Connors as he hit the mat.
Catch 2/2 Take No Prisoners
Catch 2/2 would cut Connors down with a series of kicks, before TJP would launch Akira off his shoulders into a Senton Splash on Connors. Taguchi would be made to run the ropes, but Akira would be dropped with a hip attack. Some B-Triggers on the ropes would follow, before the Rising Ass Strike from the floor for a two count.
Taguchi would catch both opponents with DDT’s, before pulling his tights down for the most electrifying ass drop in New Japan Pro Wrestling history. TJP would kick out, before Connors would have his trunks pull down to reveal matching underwear of Taguchi. He’d launch Taguchi into a hip attack, before looking for the double hip attack on TJP.
Akira would be able to break the pinfall up, before TJP took a snap powerslam in the middle of the ring. Connors would look for Trophy Kill, but TJP slipped off his shoulders to set up the Final Cut/Footstomp combo in the ring. Alley Oop facebuster took Taguchi out, before the Two By Two kicks for the finish.
