The Sussexes faced off against each other in a game of table tennis for the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The encounter was in relation to a promotional video for the games. In the clip here, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting ready to play. Harry has a grin on his face, looking towards Meghan. She gives him a nod and then he proceeds to serve.
The respect-seeking video features a number of Invictus competitors. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Are you ready? The incredible experience that is the #InvictusGames is coming ever closer.”
The games are set to go ahead on Saturday, 9th September 2023. This will be the sixth time that the games will have gone ahead, and by the looks of it, Harry has been left proud over what the games have managed to achieve.
They have given injured military personnel an opportunity to compete against each other in a competitive environment. And after having served in the British armed forces himself during the war in Afghanistan, this is a cause that is close to his heart.
In some prior comments, the Duke of Sussex remarked: “The Invictus community has very much been a major part of my growth and learning.
“Creating the Games involved listening to military and veteran families—and hearing directly from them about their lives—and that offered so much perspective.”
The fans on social media had a mixed response. While people recognised that this was a cause that should be championed, others accused the couple of exploiting it for publicity.
One person wrote: “What is Invictus again? Did I miss Meghan serving in the military? Using a charity for PR is just nasty,” while another person stated: “Thirsty for attention.”
The only thing left to do is judge the couple based on the success of the games. Time will tell how it all plays out.
