Royal experts have declared that the recently released trailer for the Netflix series about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle inaccurately implies that their security was taken away before they left the Royal Family.
Royal Experts Expose Harry And Meghan For Implying Their Security Was Removed Prior To Leaving The Firm-‘Require Them To Produce Proof’
The trailer’s suggestion that the Sussexes lost their official security before their departure from the Royal Family is not in accordance with the sequence of events.
They declared their intention to step away from their roles as senior royals on the 8th of January 2020. On the 20th of February, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) revealed they would no longer be entitled to the taxpayer-funded security typically given to members of the Royal Family.
During this period, the couple were residing in Canada, where the Met and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were providing them protection. This agreement would come to a close on March 31. And yet, the Sussexes had a different take on the matter.
In the trailer, Harry can be heard saying the following: “I wonder what would have happened to us had we not got out when we did,” while Meghan remarked: “Our security was being pulled – everyone in the world knew where we were.”
According to Tom Bower, it would be incorrect to assert that the Sussexes’ security was taken away prior to Megxit, given the timeline of events.
Richard Fitzwilliams, an expert on royals too, questioned if Netflix had exaggerated the couple’s remarks about safety in order to attract an audience.
Richard’s following comments confirmed as much: “It follows that, that in their opinion the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) was not doing its job properly. We must ask why and require them to produce proof.”
The fans on social media were displeased by the Sussexes’ claims. And in the process, they accused them of coming across in an entitled manner. One person wrote: “Boy, H really think[s] that the world revolves around them.”
