Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle, has denied her allegation that someone else had access to his phone to send her an emotional message shortly before her marriage to Prince Harry.
Thomas Markle Denies Meghan’s Claims That Someone Pretending To Be Him Messaged Her Before Her Wedding Amid His Two Heart Attacks-‘I Wrote Every Word’
In Harry and Meghan’s docuseries, the Duchess of Sussex mentioned that her dad’s cell phone had been undermined. Meanwhile, Thomas claims that he penned each and every word of the text when he was recuperating from two heart attacks in the hospital.
This naturally begs the question: why did Meghan not believe her father? Well, She questioned the actual wording of the text by claiming that he would not refer to her as Meghan, but rather call her Meg.
Not only that, but the absence of any emojis which Thomas was known for using suggested that perhaps he did not dictate the message. Although that may have been the case, Thomas denied doing anything of the sort.
In his comments, he said: “I wrote every word that I sent from that phone which is still in my possession. For her to claim my phone was compromised is simply not true.
“I wrote that text as I lay in a hospital bed after having had two heart attacks and having stents put in.” Nevertheless, Thomas had nobody to blame by himself.
Meghan had confirmed that he initially denied staging paparazzi photos. And yet, after having admitted to doing that, it eroded any element of trust that may have been there.
While Thomas did try to justify his actions on the basis that he wanted to take away the press intrusion from Meghan, his apology has not been enough to patch things up.
His following comments confirmed as much: “I made a terrible mistake for which I have apologised many times. I never got any help. I believed the photographer, who told me those pictures would take some of the pressure off me.”
