After news of Mandy Rose being released from WWE after dropping the NXT Women’s Championship this week, the future of the group that she led, Toxic Attraction, is up in the air. What happens with them and will they survive without Mandy Rose?
What Happens with Toxic Attraction Now
I think that Toxic Attraction as a tag team will be fine without Mandy Rose. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne are experienced wrestlers that worked elsewhere before coming to WWE.
There, I think that they started to develop a skill that many indie wrestlers today either don’t have or don’t care about. A personality.
The biggest thing that these two women have going for them is that they can work the camera and that they are actually interesting together. This will be big for them in the future.
They are good in the ring but being able to make people care about what they are seeing is something in wrestling that is arguably more important than actual wrestling talent. It’s the reason why so many fans don’t care about some many great wrestlers.
Also, I think that the group as a whole benefited each other but Gigi and Jacy benefited Mandy much more than Mandy benefited them. I think that Mandy Rose was the catalyst for Gigi and Jacy getting on television and getting pushed but they would’ve been on television sooner or later anyway.
On the flip side, I think that Gigi and Jacy took Mandy under their wings kind of and helped develop her into who she was as NXT Women’s champion for over a year.
If we remember, when Mandy was on the main roster in a group, she had no personality and her in ring skills were at the bottom of the division (with some other names).
When she moved to NXT and got with Jacy and Gigi, her personality started to show and she started becoming better in the ring at a rapid pace to the point that I looked at her like a ring general for the division.
This don’t happen by just getting coaching. I think that the girls in Toxic Attraction helped her get to that point and I think that NXT and WWE backstage officials know this.
This is why I think that they will be fine and that we will see them on the main roster very soon. I think Smackdown would be their likely location.
I can see them being the cornerstone of the women’s tag team division if WWE ever decides to take the titles serious. If not, I think that both ladies will be perfectly fine as singles competitors. They are both talented in the ring and can talk on the mic.
It would’ve been nice to see Mandy Rose, Jacy Jayne, and Gigi Dolin come up as a group but Jacy and Gigi still have a bright future ahead of them, and I don’t think that Mandy Rose is banned from ever coming back to WWE so she could be there somewhere in the future.
