‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers here and we’re set to dive right into some fun spoilery goodies and set the stage for a powerful episode.
This one looks like it’s going to delve into how warped Willow Tate (Katelyn MacMullen)’s mind is between buying fully into Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)’s leadership and the toll the leukemia has taken on her.
With plenty of possibilities on tap, let’s dig in!
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers Tuesday, January 17: Willow’s refusing the transplant?
This is something ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers have mentioned a few times as a possibility for Willow, and it looks like she may follow through and choose to die rather than accept a donation from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
And the reason is simple: hate. She hates Nina for what she’s done to her and her family. Nina’s no saint, but she’s not some evil, vindictive woman that’s trying to tear their family apart. Quite the opposite.
Nina’s first reaction to finding Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in Nixon Falls was to call Carly, and Carly’s first response was to attack her because she was convinced Nina was trying to get involved with her grandson.
And we think it’s that poisonous thinking the Cult of Carly has been promoting that will cause Willow to refuse the treatment. No matter what, she’ll twist Nina’s words about a new beginning into her using her offer to get into Wiley’s life.
Never mind Nina said she wanted nothing in return.
In the end, Willow was brought up to follow authority figures in cults, and Carly’s influence has a far reach in this case as she’s become a type of cult with Willow and Michael.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers Tuesday, January 17: There’s always hope
Sonny will offer Nina all the support he can if and when Willow refuses the donation, but in the end there’s not much they can do.
They’re only options are to either follow Willow’s wishes or have her declared mentally incompetent, which will only serve to push Willow further into her belief Nina wants to steal her family.
It looks like Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) won’t be able to sway her, but maybe Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) can. She’s close to Nina and Willow and she knows how kind and loving Nina is.
The problem here is it’ll fly into the face of what Willow wants to believe and it could either reaffirm her stance or Sasha could convince her if she wants to leave her children without a mother.
We doubt Willow will refuse the transplant for long, but if she does there’s no one to blame but herself for buying into the exaggeration and hate she’s been fed.
If it is too late for Willow, this will be the second time Carly’s had a hand in taking away one of Nina’s daughters through her lies. There’s no coming back from that,
Will Willow come around and accept Nina’s donation, or will her stubbornness take her to the grave? Let us know in the comments what you think and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
