The good must come with the bad and even though I think that, as always, this was an overall enjoyable show for me, there are a few things here and there that bothered me.
The Bad from AEW Dark Elevation
I really hate to start off this section with this because I love seeing him, but if AEW let Claudio come up with that promo on his own, they may need to start writing them for him.
He cut a promo and it was not only all over the place, but he said absolutely nothing in it. I think that given his opponent, nothing needed to be said and the match will most likely speak for itself.
Also, I really really hope that ROH being on AEW branded shows come to an end very soon. I would much rather see AEW talent only even if they may not have the biggest name.
The House of Black was fine, but I just find it hard to believe that this is the best that they got for them. With three hours of television, there is no reason why these guys should be wrestling on Elevation or Dark.
Also, I didn’t like the makeshift group that they put them against. I don’t know why they couldn’t just beat the Wingmen or just the Trustbusters.
The tag team of Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir just don’t do it for me. They seem like a thrown together tag team. This squash match just wasn’t it.
On another note, I do really like Shafir. She is someone that has good looking offense and it looks believable which is something that I struggle with in many AEW matches.
Luckily, the Kingston and Ortiz match was short. It wasn’t bad at all but I just don’t think that Ortiz is entertaining at all. I don’t mind Kingston.
I know that the “main event” was just some fun for the live crowd and that was fine but I didn’t think that this match was entertaining at all. This card should have ended with the Bandido versus Christopher Daniels match.
I don’t think that there is any reason for this show to be as long as it was. I understand that you want to get as many people exposure as possible but you have two more shows next week.
This card could have easily trimmed at least four of these matches to make it a more focused card.
