The last two episodes of AEW Dark Elevation didn’t have much downside to it. Solid in ring action mixed with some backstage segments have been carrying the show lately but that doesn’t mean that it is all good. Here is the bad from AEW Dark Elevation Episode 98.
The Bad from AEW Dark Elevation
First off, we have to talk about the random, terrible parings that AEW has been doing recently on Dark and Dark Elevation. Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir are a team, but why just throw Emi with them?
AEW does this a lot on these shows and it never leads to anything. I know that these shows would be the time and place in AEW to try things like this to see if it works but AEW does it a lot, even when there is no reason or explanation to why it is being done. I just don’t like it.
Why? Week after week, AEW constantly put Ari Daivari in random pairings with random wrestlers for no reason. He has a group with three people that he could team with, speak for, and help get over. I know that they have other people that they could replace him with.
Even though the match was fine for what it was, I just am not into the Dark Order like the fans are into them. John Silver is fine when he gets the hot tag but as a whole unit, they are boring to me.
I am tired of Athena being on AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. I understand that she is the ROH Women’s Champion, but she really should be doing more.
I know that there is limited television time on Wednesday and Friday but it is hard to say that you couldn’t move someone that constantly get time on those shows for someone as talented as Athena.
Since she became champion, she got a new attitude and it seems like it is ready for prime time.
While the squash was fine, she deserves better. The run in by Riho at the end was pretty good and I am a big fan of her getting better, more meaningful matches.
