After two great AEW Dark Elevation episodes to start off the new year, will AEW go three for three while they are still on their west coast tour? Here are the best parts of AEW Dark Elevation episode 98.
The Good from AEW Dark Elevation
With a squash involving two people in Emi Sakura and Nyla Rose that I am not very fond of, this match was actually doing what it needed to do. This is also the best that Nyla Rose has looked on Dark or Dark Elevation.
Marina Shafir didn’t do much in this match. I wish she did more but it was a squash anyway so I guess her services were not needed.
Daniel Garcia’s match was pretty good. He has a long way to go as far as personality and character work goes though. I watched his match here and on Dark. I saw two different people in those matches.
In this match, I saw a heel that is part of the JAC while in the tag team match, he came off as a babyface that was reluctant to do what Sammy Guevara wanted him to do. There has to be something constant there so that new fans know how to interact with him.
ETHAN PAGE IS GREAT! This is entertaining! I love everything that he is doing and everything that he does week to week on Dark and Elevation. He is so good that he made me like Matt Hardy in 2023.
Don Callis needs to talk for more people. He is good at what he does and the short promo that he cut with Takeshita was pretty good. I also think that this could be an interesting storyline for him.
Rush and Preston Vance did good in their squash match. I liked what they did after the match too but I can see AEW not wanting them to do that to their already established talent on a weekly basis.
The Firm with Brandon Cutler was good. Ethan Page continues to do great work every week and it really helps the people that are involved with him.
The three man tag team match was alright but it was short. I wish that they would’ve gave them more time.
Despite this, the match was fast paced and had a lot of cool spots. I think that Top Flight will be tag team champions very soon.
