The Firm has had a Jungle Boy problem lately, with Big Bill & Lee Moriarty falling to Jungle Boy & HOOK on AEW Dynamite, and Ethan Page was taken out by Jungle Boy in singles action. Tonight, Page brings Matt Hardy as his tag team partner, who is his unwilling underling – and the man Page views as responsible for the recent loss. This could be the last straw if Hardy fails Page tonight, especially given his tag team legacy. If you’re living under a rock – he’s a 23 time tag team champion, and Page is an 11 time champion in his own right.
HOOK Remains Undefeated As Ethan Page Taps Out
Page & Perry would start this match, with Perry able to take Page down with a running hurricarana. Hardy & Page would unite in the ring as HOOK looked to help, with HOOK taking Page to the floor for the T-Bone Suplex. Instead, HOOK would nearly take Ego’s Edge – with Perry making the save with a dive.
Hardy would look for a lariat in the ring, with Perry able to block. Page would get the match back under control, before Hardy would slingshot Perry throat first into the ropes. Calling them ropes is a bit disingenuous – with them really more steel cables wrapped in tape, making them a deadly weapon when used correctly.
Hardy would hit the jumping armbreaker on Perry, before Page tagged himself in. This would allow HOOK to make the tag. A massive lariat would follow before the El Camino Suplex. T-Bone Suplex would follow, before Perry was tagged back in. HOOK was sent to the floor, but locked in the Redrum from the apron.
Hardy would pull HOOK to the floor, before Perry was dropped with a Side Effect in the ring. Twist Of Fate would follow, but Perry told Hardy to tag him in. Page would fail to hit the Twist Of Fate, and Page was locked in the Snare Trap and forced to tap out.
The Attitudes Of The Gunns Are Because Billy Gunn Failed As A Father
Billy Gunn is sick and tired of the issues between The Gunns & The Acclaimed. His sons are acting like spoiled brats, and The Acclaimed have not been acting like champions. He had two words for all of them last week… Family Therapy. Tonight, Billy Gunn drags Austin & Colton Gunn, as well as the AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed into a group therapy session – hoping this clears up all the lingering issues.
Billy would start the session, asking when Austin & Colton became spoiled brats. They would say that Billy was an absent father, on the road 340 days of the year. The dream of winning tag team championships was supposed to be them. However, when they were given the chance to make that dream happen – they would just get jealous of The Acclaimed when Billy showed them the smallest amount of attention.
The Gunns would say their faults as sons are Billy’s failures as a father. When asked what would make them happy, they would simply point to the AEW World Tag Team Championships before walking out on the session.
