Darby Allin is the very definition of a fighting champion in All Elite Wrestling, and his second reign as TNT Champion is going just like his first – non-stop title defences. Already having defended against Mike Bennett just days after taking the belt from Samoa Joe, Allin has his next defence booked – as Juice Robinson would answer the open challenge. Having moved to AEW from New Japan Pro Wrestling, Robinson is looking for his signature win – and tonight the 3 time IWGP United States Champion looks to take Allin down.
Juice Robinson’s Skillset Is Rock Hard
Robinson would be able to force Allin into the corner, but was unable to follow up as Allin slipped away. Allin would be taken to the mat in the middle of the ring, but he would lunge to the ropes to break free. Side headlock would be applied, with Robinson breaking free using a back suplex to get free.
Robinson would jump up into a senton, with Allin able to get his knees up to block. Some deep arm drags would send Robinson flying, before he’d launch Allin over the top rope with a huge Flapjack. Allin would be whipped into the barricades before the steel steps – Robinson showing his well rounded brawling skills.
Robinson would toss Allin up and let him crash back down onto the steel steps, before posing in the corner. Allin would slip back into the ring, before taking a double axe handle from Robinson – who would follow up with a stomp to the face. Robinson would be able to hit the Delayed Vertical Suplex before a standing Frog Splash for the two count.
Allin would take some big right hand jabs from Robinson, before a big knife edge chop sent him down to the mat. Robinson would look for a lariat in the corner, but took a boot to the face. Allin would jump over Robinson and hit the John-Woo Dropkick, sending Robinson to the floor for a Cannonball Senton through the ropes.
Darby Allin Uses The Teachings Of Sting To Great Effect
Robinson would be able to slip back into the ring, blocking a Coffin Splash with a lariat to the back of the neck. Allin would be crushed with a trio of big senton splashes, Robinson using his deceptively large body to really punish the TNT Champion. A senton off the middle rope would be avoided, with Allin able to get a Crucifix Pinfall for a two count.
Robinson would kick out, keeping Allin on his shoulders for the Princes Throne gutbuster. Allin took refuge in the corner, and was able to avoid the running cannonball. Code Red would follow for a two count, before Allin looked to set up the Coffin Drop. Robinson would be able to stop him from diving, setting Allin up on the ropes for a diving lariat.
Juicehammer would follow, getting a two count – as Robinson started to get frustrated with being unable to keep Allin down. A superplex would be set, with Allin able to counter into an Avalanche Scorpion Death Drop before the Coffin Drop for the victory. After the match, Sting would come to the ring to celebrate with his protege.
