When Darby Allin lost his most recent match to Jay Lethal, a big part was played by Cole Karter of The Factory. He dressed as Sting, and even hit Allin with a baseball bat – and more or less got away with it. That changes tonight, as he has to face the former TNT Champion one on one, with the real Sting at ringside – ready to strike anyone down at a moment’s notice. Nick Comoroto is in the corner of Karter, but even he will be wary of Sting.
Cole Karter Pushes Darby Allin To His Limits
Sting would instead opt to stay in the back during this match, but left the bat – allowing Allin to beat Comoroto down before the bell. Allin is needing to rely on Sting less, but a bat is always available. Karter stuck on the outside during the beatdown, and Allin wiped him out with a tope suicida.
Allin would slam the hand of Karter off the steel steps, before a shotgun dropkick into the corner. Karter would be beaten with some clubbing blows and rolled to safety, before Allin looked for a Coffin Splash to the floor. Allin would be shoved off the top and onto the top rope, before taking an apron powerbomb.
Back in the ring, Karter would hit a Buckle Bomb, before Allin was pulled to the floor and thrown into the steel steps. Some crown knee strikes to the ribs would follow, before a snap suplex into a pinfall for a one count. Karter would get cocky as he threw Allin across the ring, before nailing a jumping knee strike.
Keith Lee Sees A Ghost From His Past
Allin would slip behind Karter and hit a chop block, before being levelled with a rolling elbow smash. Karter would just fire up Allin with some strikes, before being spiked with Code Red for a two count. Allin would take an Avalanche Falcon Arrow, but this was still not enough to take Allin down. Karter would try for a 450 Splash but Allin avoided. Hammerlock Scorpion Death Drop and Coffin Drop would follow, and this match was over.
After this match, we’d catch up with Keith Lee – who would be called out by his former tag team partner Shane Taylor for a match at Final Battle. Formerly known as The Pretty Boy Killers, Lee & Taylor broke into ROH together, with Lee leaving for WWE soon after. Shane Taylor barely runs alone, meaning Lee will need to rely on Swerve Strickland again.
