Hangman Page is ready to finish his business with Jon Moxley next week in Dayton, Ohio – but tonight he can check another member of Blackpool Combat Club off his list. Page has already defeated Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley, and tonight goes one on one with Wheeler Yuta. Yuta has been proving himself to be able to hang with main event names in AEW, and won’t go down without a fight.
Wheeler Yuta Doesn’t Back Down From Hangman Page
Yuta would start off hot, hitting a rushing dropkick as soon as the bell rang. Page would fight back, before ending up in the Octopus Stretch in the middle of the ring. The ROH Pure Rules Champion would keep the attack coming on the mat, going after the legs of Page to force a rope break. Page would finally get some offence with a lariat, following up with some heavy handed chops in the corner.
Yuta would throw some strikes of his own, before being whipped down to the mat. Sliding lariat followed, getting a two count. Page would hit a Fallaway Slam sending Yuta rolling to the floor, before hitting the vaulting body press to keep the pressure on. Yuta would be rolled into the ring, and Page would take a moment to breathe before being nailed with a swift tope.
A second tope would be blocked by Page, who would hit the Pop Up Powerbomb to the apron. Back in the ring, another powerbomb landed – getting Page a near fall. Yuta would be set up on the top rope and taken down hard with a massive superplex, getting another near fall. Page would apply the Rear Waist Lock on the mat, with Yuta able to break free and hit a missile dropkick.
Yuta would keep the fast paced offence incoming, hitting a Bulldog Headlock out of the corner, getting the two count. Page would catch Yuta on the top rope with some headbutts, before an Avalanche Death Valley Driver for a near fall. German Suplex would land, with Yuta wanting to keep fighting but was being manhandled.
Sending A Message By Using The Finisher Of Jon Moxley
Yuta would manage a trio of German Suplexes himself – with Page using the ropes to avoid a fourth. Page would slip to the apron and look to set up the Buckshot Lariat with the big boot over the top, only to have his ankle caught. Yuta would trap it in the ropes before some Hammer & Anvil elbows.
Page would take a German Suplex on the apron, before Yuta succeeded in floating to the floor for a second suplex. Back in the ring, the diving splash would be blocked with the knees of Page, allowing for a comeback. Big lariat would drop Yuta, but the Buckshot was blocked into the Modified Angle Slam.
Hammer & Anvil elbows were blocked, and Page nailed a rolling elbow. Page slipped to the lariat and back in with the Buckshot. Yuta was already beaten, but Page would hit the Death Rider – sending a clear message to Moxley.
