However, what happened since then is very interesting and intriguing. Instead of receiving punishment, or even a suspension by his employers, the UFC, and ESPN didn’t react to the incident. Instead, Dana White launched a whole new ‘sport’ – ironically slap fighting. Warmer Media delayed the debut of Dana White’s Power Slap League only by a week. This happens because they wanted to reassure themselves that Dana White’s incident won’t affect their ‘baby’ into which they poured millions.
There are many people that reacted to the incident. However, the list of UFC employees or UFC fighters that reacted is very short.
Nevertheless, the internet always finds its way into criticizing someone if he deserved it. That’s how some old footage of an interview with his mother, June White resurfaced. In the video, Dana White’s mother shares some disturbing comments about his marriage and relationship.
The interview dates from 2011, when June promoted her book, ‘Dana White, King of MMA’. In the interview, and in the book, June White puts light on her son’s behavior accusing him of infidelity and domestic violence.
“I don’t want to take anything away from him, for what he did for MMA and the UFC. Dana has a high school education, and that’s it. I think it’s pretty amazing, the things he’s been able to do in MMA and the UFC, but he’s not a good person.” – June White says in the interview. “He seems to have lost his character somewhere along the way. He mistreats people. It’s terrible the way he speaks to women and treats women. That really bothers me, because I don’t believe I’ve ever brought him up to behave like that.”
This alone tells what his mother thinks of him. However, she doubles down, and further down the interview addresses Dana White’s marriage. She claims that he is constantly cheating on his wife with different .
“Plenty of the ring card girls sleep with him.” – June White boldly claims, “There’s two of them I know for sure. He slept with his sister-in-law in my house, which made me absolutely furious. I mean, he goes after any girl he wants and usually gets them. His wife is – they’re constantly fighting. The honeymoon, she gave him the worst black eye I’ve ever seen and nearly lost his eye. So I don’t know if that’s his way of handling that, but he’s overboard with handling that.”
