Jeremy Clarkson recently put a halt to the operations of his farm shop, a week after his disagreement with Meghan Markle.
Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm Shop Closes Down Amid His Comments In Which He Wanted To See Meghan Markle Have Excrement Thrown At Her
The Diddly Squat Farm Shop opened its doors in the year 2020 after the issues Jeremy faced in setting it up were shown in his Amazon program, Clarkson’s Farm.
Subsequent to the criticism that ensued for his remarks about the Duchess of Sussex, the Instagram page of Diddly Squat Farm declared that it would be closed until Friday, 10th February 2022.
Following immense criticism of his words in The Sun column where he expressed his wish to see Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, paraded through the streets with no clothes on while people threw ‘excrement’ at her, Jeremy, the former Top Gear presenter, issued an apology.
He had also mentioned that he despised Meghan even more than the notorious serial killer, Rose West. The Independent Press Standards Organisation received the highest number of grievances ever in response to the article, which prompted The Sun to issue a formal apology.
Much in the same way, Clarkson recognised that his comments were out of line. In his comments at the time, Clarkson remarked: “Oh dear. I’ve rather put my foot in it.
“In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people. I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future.”
The response on social media was far from sympathetic towards Clarkson. Large numbers of people made it clear that Clarkson’s own actions had led to many distancing themselves from him.
One person wrote: “I wonder if the staff are going to suffer financially because of his rancid mouth. Doubt they’ll be on full pay while he waits for his ‘reputation’ to be restored.”
