A survey from YouGov found that Princess Anne is the most beloved member of the Royal Family, while Prince Harry’s approval rating has taken a dramatic nosedive as a result of the controversy created by his memoir.
Poll Declares Princess Anne As The Most Loved Member Of The Royal Family As Harry’s Popularity Declines
According to the poll, an overwhelming majority of people (68%) have a negative opinion of the Duke of Sussex, with fewer than a quarter of people showing approval.
Princess Anne, who has managed to avoid being pulled into the conflict sparked by Harry’s book Spare, is the most popular royal.
The polling organisation revealed that Harry achieved his lowest ever approval rating of -44, which is lower than the -38 from the previous week.
Older British citizens were more likely to express a very unfavourable opinion of Harry and Meghan Markle compared to Prince Andrew. This was very shocking to say the least since Andrew had been accused of sexual assault in relation to Virginia Giuffre’s allegations.
Of those over the age of 65, 60% expressed a highly adverse opinion of Andrew, with 69% and 73% feeling the same way about Meghan and Harry respectively.
Furthermore, 41% contended that Harry’s purpose in releasing Spare was to generate revenue, while only 21% thought he wanted to relate his perspective.
Despite the various issues, a majority of those surveyed believed the Royal Family was beneficial to the U.K. and desired to keep it.
Yet, the percentage of individuals who expressed shame over the monarchy increased from 15% in September 2020 to 21% this week.
The fans on social media praised Anne on the basis that she was known for being one of the most hardworking royals out there, as shown by previous polls which had confirmed that.
One person wrote: “The lady has always been my personal favourite Royal,” while another person stated: “Agreed. Anne has always been my favourite. Sound of mind & proper in outlook.”
