Prince Edward and Prince Andrew were deemed the least favoured members of the Royal Family in a poll conducted by MailOnline.
Prince Edward Voted Least Popular Member Of The Firm Alongside The Disgraced Prince Andrew
This was a shock to say the least, since Edward is known for being one of the most hardworking members of the firm. The Earl of Wessex had conducted a total of 143 engagements in 2022, which was only surpassed by Princess Anne’s 214 and King Charles III’s 181.
Edward is recognised for being an exceptionally devoted member of the Royal Family, even though he does not receive the same degree of public attention as other members of the firm.
With that being said, a survey was conducted to discover which royal was the most popular, with the results showing that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales was the favourite with 36% of the vote.
Prince William was a close second at 26%, while Princess Anne was not far behind on 17%. King Charles III gained 8%, while Edward and Andrew were joint on 1% and Meghan Markle received 2%.
This is not a good look for Edward for the following reasons. First of all, being alongside Andrew is hardly something to write home about since the former was involved in sexual assault allegations in relation to Virginia Giuffre.
Secondly, the Duchess of Sussex has also damaged her reputation by virtue of her and Prince Harry’s damning revelations against the firm.
The fans on social media praised Edward despite his low approval rating. This was on the grounds that he often puts royal duties before himself, without caring about being seen in the public limelight.
One person wrote: “Edward is an asset to the RF. IF indeed he is unpopular, I can only assume it’s because he keeps his head down and doesn’t invite publicity.
“He stands head and shoulders above his brother and nephew, both of whom have brought nothing but trouble and grief.”
