The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry’s book Spare has become the fastest-selling non-fiction work to date, as per its publisher.
Prince Harry’s Memoir Spare Becomes The Fastest Selling Non-Fiction Book Of All Time
Prince Harry’s book reportedly sold 400,000 copies in hardback, e-book and audio formats. The book claims that Harry’s brother, Prince William physically attacked him, and prioritised his own interests.
It also alleges that King Charles III was envious of Meghan Markle. Larry Finlay, the head of Transworld Penguin Random House, declared: “We always knew this book would fly but it is exceeding even our most bullish expectations.
“As far as we know, the only books to have sold more in their first day are those starring the other Harry (Potter).”
The Duke spoke in a series of high-profile promotional interviews, expressing his desire for his children to have a connection with the Royal Family.
And as part of that process, it seems that people are wanting to hear what he has had to say. One book lover, Caroline Lennon, had this to say when she purchased it: “People will criticise me and say, “What an idiot for liking Harry.
“What an idiot for queuing up”, but I don’t care what anyone says.” The fans on social media questioned the actual figures about the book.
This was due to the fact that there are many reasons as to why people may have bought the book, which might not reflect that they agree with Harry.
Meanwhile, others were not surprised by this since Harry has gone on the attack against the firm. One person wrote: “Not surprised. He has made history. It would be the first time a royal runt attacked his family.”
Harry’s book may be doing very well, but the question remaining is how much damage has been done by his revelations. Time will tell how this all plays out moving forward.
