Wednesday Addams‘ OG actress, Lisa Loring, has passed away at the age of 64. Loring played the role on the original television series The Addams Family. Though Lisa is traditionally recognized as Wednesday Addams’ first voice actor, other actors have filled the part over the years. Jenna Ortega, who played Wednesday in a Netflix Original Series centred on that character, is the most recent. The death of Wednesday star Lisa Loring has shocked and saddened her legion of devoted admirers.
Lisa Loring‘s death was confirmed on Facebook by her close friend Laure Jacobson. Laure further explained the circumstances surrounding her friend’s untimely demise. After suffering “a massive stroke” on January 28th, the original Wednesday Addams had her life support turned off.

“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.” In the post, it was disclosed that Lisa had suffered a stroke just four days before she passed away. The actress’s loved ones took the tough call to turn off life support after she had been on it for three days.
Laure’s Facebook post continued, saying, “She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams. Beautiful, kind, a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in the world of entertainment is huge. And the legacy for her family and friends — a wealth of humor, affection and love will long play in our memories. RIP, Lisa. D*mn, girl… you were a ton of fun.”
As was previously mentioned, Lisa Loring is widely acknowledged as the first person to give life to Wednesday Addams. The first live-action version of Charles Addams’ New Yorker cartoons was broadcast for two seasons, from 1964 to 1966. In 62 episodes, Lisa played Wednesday. After her breakthrough role in The Adams Family, she guest-starred on other popular television series like The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Fantasy Island, and Barnaby Jones.
She was so successful that she was cast as Cricket Montgomery in an ongoing role on As The World Turns. Lisa had fewer than twenty credits to her name on IMDb. Her last acting performance, as Miss Rhonda in 2015’s Doctor Spine, was her most recent.
