Pretty much everyone feels it’s only a matter of time until Vince McMahon takes over control of WWE Creative and we’ll be back to the talent serving an audience of one and the rest of us will have to make due.
It’s recently been reported that McMahon is already breaking his promise to not interfere with the day to day running of the WWE by giving suggestions to WWE Creative. This may just be a rumor, but it’s something everyone expects to happen at some point.
Vince McMahon Rumored to be “Giving” Suggestions to WWE Creative
Triple H has done a good job of changing the culture backstage into one where people aren’t reportedly walking on egg shells and have high morale, but that could change.
Since the news of McMahon returning, there have been backstage meetings with the talent prior to last week’s Smackdown (January 13) and tonight’s Raw (January 16) reaffirming that while McMahon is making suggestions, Triple H has the final say.
Threat of going backwards
In the months since McMahon retired, the WWE has flourished with the product making sense instead of feeling thrown together at the last minute, and the matches were actual matches instead of spot fests and gimmick ending that repeated several times throughout the night.
Fans have been enjoying seeing the turnaround and we hope it continues. Triple H turned NXT into the better of the three brands critically and in the eyes of fans before NXT 2.0 washed away his hard work, and he’s brought the same energy and passion to the main brands since taking over.
Triple H is a fan of wrestling, and he books the shows with fans in mind. There’s still plenty of room for him to grow, but he’s walked a fine line between the WWE’s current style while mixing in some elements from the Attitude Era.
Seeing the WWE revert back to what it was the last few years under McMahon reportedly has everyone worried and nervous, and fans are expecting a slew of releases among those previously released.
Since he forced himself back into the WWE and brought in two arguably loyal directors to the board and then forcing them to vote him in as chairman or he would’ve renew the company’s upcoming media rights, he was only supposed to return to oversee the sale of the company.
He even rehired one of his old staff in Brad Blum.
Hopefully these are just rumors or McMahon will stick with making suggestions, but if he doesn’t agree with what Triple H is doing there’s no doubt he’ll take over and do it his way.
