Why NXT Vengeance Day is Shaping Up to Be NXT’s Best Premium Live Event in a While

With NXT’s next major event coming up in less than a week, they are going all out with the event and even what they have announced right now, looks pretty good. Here are a few matches to look out for and reasons why they might be making it as big as they are.

Key Matches for NXT Vengeance Day

At the time that I am writing this, there are six matches on the NXT Vengeance Day card. Most of these matches have some type of stipulation to them.

With only one regular singles match, most of the matches look like they are made for one of the challengers to pick up the win. The main event for the NXT Championship is in a steel cage.

This is a way that Grayson Waller can beat Bron Breakker by some type of heel magic without making Breakker look weak. I think that it is possible for someone new to come in and help Waller defeat Breakker also.

The women’s title match is a triple threat, the tag team title match is a Fatal Four-Way tag team match, and the other singles match is a two out of three fall match.

I think that there will be a lot of surprises coming out of this event and there may be a reason for it that I will talk about later.

Moving back to the matches, I think that this card has the making for it to be the best NXT event in a very long time. While they are usually very solid every time, it has been a while since there was a very memorable big NXT event.

Expect there to be some surprise twists and some things that you might not expect to happen.

Why is Vengeance Day So Big This Year

For one, they are going to be in Charlotte, North Carolina this time. In Flair country, wrestling is very strong and the crowd will expect a great event.

Other than this, I think that NXT is gearing up for quite a few of their top tier wrestlers to move on to the main roster. Some of the rumored moves include NXT Champion Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Cameron Grimes, Von Wagner, and Pretty Deadly.

Some additional people that I think might be going to the main roster includes Zoey Starks, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jane, Damon Kemp, Ilja Dargunov, Indi Hartwell, and maybe Wendy Choo.

While this seems like a lot of wrestlers leaving the brand, I think that it is going to be needed in order to truly move NXT toward their vision for a new NXT.

There is a clear glass ceiling on the brand and the only way to make new stars while a lot of these wrestlers are down there would be to move them up and allow the next wave of stars to show that they can carry the show.

    Who Got Up Next

While I don’t think that these wrestlers are going to be moved up right after Vengeance Day, I think that slowly but surely, they will be phased out of NXT so that they can go to the main roster.

This may last as long as to the post WrestleMania shows. This will give them time to tie up any loose ends and allow some of their talents to do the honors for some of the guys down there before they leave.

In the main event scene, I think that you might be looking at Grayson Waller, Tyler Bate, Joe Coffey, JD McDonagh, and Dragon Lee.

The North American title scene will be Wes Lee, Dijak, Odyssey Jones, Joe Gacy, and Tony D’Angelo.

The women’s title will revolve around Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton, Alba Fyre, Cora Jade, Nikkita Lyons, and Sarray.
