Alba Fyre has not been happy since Isla Dawn made her way to NXT, and made it her mission to ruin the career of Fyre. She has been costed the NXT Women’s Championship, defeated at NXT Deadline, and even lost a match to the rookie sensation Sol Ruca. This prompted her to lash out at the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, and put herself in a handicap match against Kayden Carter & Katana Chance tonight… and the belts are on the line.
Katana Chance & Kayden Carter Make Their Latest Defense
Fyre would once again agree to go it alone – only for Sol Ruca to hit the ring and add herself to the match as the partner of Fyre. Carter & Fyre would begin, and Fyre looking for the Fyre Bomb early – with Carter able to break free. Fyre would take a kick to the face, only to be cut down with the insane speed of the champions.
Ruca would tag herself into the match and nail Carter with a stunner to send her from the ring. Fyre would toss Carter into the ring steps as we went to a commercial break. Ruca would show her power as we came back looking for a press slam, once for Chance to slip free.
Fyre would tag herself in, before Ruca was cornered and Fyre was dropped. Carter got a two for one special with a dropkick into a splash, before an Electric Chair drop – sending Chance onto Fyre for a near fall. Fyre would hit the Gordbuster and tagged in Ruca for the big splash for a two count.
Ruca would be isolated in the ring with a superkick from Carter, after Fyre was dropped on the floor. 450 Splash/Neckbreaker combo followed, and Carter & Chance remain NXT Tag Team Champions.
Everything Is Not Perfect In Toxic Attraction Camp
During New Years Evil, there was a Battle Royale to name the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship – held by Roxanne Perez. However, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne had other plans – intending to end the night with both having a title shot. They would be the final two names in the match, and eliminated themselves at the same time – both hitting the floor simultaneously.
This means they both get the title shot, and tonight they sign the contracts for the match at Vengeance Day. However not all is well with Toxic Attraction. A miscue in a tag match last night saw them lose in the main event, and would drive a wedge between partners.
Earlier in the night, Jayne would say she’s done playing nice with Dolin after last week’s tag team loss, and that she is tired of carrying Dolin as her partner. Dolin would say that she is not surprised, saying Jayne is simply a bad person. She might be a bit dark, a rose with thorns – having nothing to hide.
Toxic Attraction Trap Revealed As Championship Summit Ends In Brawl
Booker T would ask who wants to start, with Jayne & Dolin bickering – as Jayne said she’s carried Dolin for a year. The kick last week was an accident, but she wishes it wasn’t. She dragged Dolin to success, without Jayne – Dolin would still be shooting for viral moments on the indies.
Dolin would say that Jayne is an incredibly insecure person behind the scenes, getting so nervous over matches that there’s a bucket with her name on it in gorilla. Who will hold her hair back at Vengeance Day without Dolin there for her?
Perez would finally speak, saying that Toxic Attraction made everyone feel like hell from the start, and is glad they now direct their mean girl attitudes at each other. She thought Vengeance Day would be a handicap match. But this doesn’t change anything, she will still leave as champion.
Dolin & Jayne would be seconds from blows, before lifting their masks. They’d unite and beat Perez down, before putting her through the table with a double chokeslam.
