Oro Mensah started his run in NXT with a bang, as he qualified for the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match – and his high flying style nearly got him the win. Now, he looks to start 2023 off right – as he goes one on one with Big Body Javi himself, Javier Bernal. Mensah previously defeated Bernal on Level Up, and looks to repeat that tonight on the bigger stage.
Indus Sher Wants Respect By Defeating Creed Brothers
Before this match, we’d hear from Indus Sher. They’d detail their insane fame in India with Veer being the first Indian Born MLB player, and Sanga being a Bollywood star. They would follow by saying they’ve never been respected for their talents in WWE, but that will change when they destroy The Creed Brothers at New Years Evil.
Indus Sher waited for the former NXT Tag Team Champions to be at 100% – so they defeat them on the top of their game. That is what will get them the respect they feel they deserve – as if you can maul one of the best rising tag teams in the game, you can’t help but respect a duo.
Oro Mensah Comes Back From A Cheap Shot
Bernal would attack from behind as this match began, allowing him to start with the advantage in the ring. A backdrop would get a two count, before the running bulldog was followed by a lariat for another two count. Mensah would throw a wild lariat, but took a DDT instead.
Bernal would finally take some heavy blows from Mensah, before applying a chinlock in the ropes. Mensah let the hold go at four, before the high speed spinning heel kick in the corner for the dominant victory. Even with Bernal getting the cheap attack before the bell, he was unable to defeat Menash – putting him back to the drawing board.
Drew Gulak Goes Too Far
Drew Gulak was supposed to be in the corner of Hank Walker for a match here tonight against Charlie Dempsey – but Dempsey wasn’t cleared for a match tonight, with his arm in a sling. Instead, Gulak ran a grappling class – with the students of Chase U getting involved to the dismay of Andre Chase. The temper of Chase would flair, and now he’s locking up with Gulak in a teacher vs. teacher match.
Gulak would have his arm wrenched as this match began, but used the ropes to get free. Crossface Chickenwing would be applied, with Chase getting the ropes this time – and Gulak allowed the clean break. Gulak was tossed aside with an arm drag, but Chase didn’t follow up with offence – instead taunting and taking a back suplex.
Dempsey would pull his sling off backstage and stomp to the ring with a scowl on his face. Gulak hit a snap suplex into a pin for two, before taking a Russian Leg Sweep. The Chase U stomps would follow, before he’d look for the Figure Four Leg Lock – with Gulak getting the ropes. He’d punch Chase in the face and apply the GuLock for the victory – showing his vicious side as he didn’t let the hold go after Chase tapped out.
Will Drew Gulak face consequences for his extra aggression? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
