AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter is ready for any challengers, and tonight The Bunny has a chance to earn herself a title shot. Much like Emi Sakura on a recent episode of AEW Rampage, The Bunny simply needs to defeat Hayter to earn a future title shot. Often viewed as one of the most overlooked names on the AEW Women’s roster, The Bunny is a world travelled veteran with one hell of a mean streak – which could spell trouble for Hayter here tonight.
Jamie Hayter Once Again Proves That Hayter Hits Hard, MJF Has A Story For The Fans About What Kind Of Man He Is
Hayter & Bunny would lock up in the middle of the ring, with Hayter able to take Bunny down to the mat with a side headlock. Bunny would fight back up to her feet, only to be run down with a trio of Shoulder Tackles. Hayter would be taken over the ropes with a Headscissor Choke, only for Bunny to be brought back in with a suplex.
Bunny would roll across the ring to the apron, avoiding a shoulder tackle and hitting the Neckbreaker in the ropes. Snap Suplex on the floor would see Hayter hit her legs off the steel steps. Hayter was able to find her footing before driving Bunny into the barricade. Bunny would regain control in the ring with a rake to the eyes, before the sliding elbow smash in the corner.
Hayter & Bunny would trade strikes on the apron, before nailing a DDT. Exploder Suplex would be blocked, with Bunny shifting and having Hayter landing on her face. Haterade Lariat would follow – and Bunny was done, potentially leaving this match with a broken nose after that messy suplex.
Following this match, MJF would speak about what made him a twisted man – that being a car crash on prom night, which nearly killed his crush. When the cops arrived, he would reveal the type of man he was when faced with adversity. MJF knew he was one ticket away from losing his licence, so he drug his crush’s limp but breathing body into the driver seat to blame the crash on her. Bryan Danielson has nothing to expose with MJF, but MJF will do his best to expose what type of man The American Dragon is.
Ricky Starks Enters The Garcia-Guevara Gauntlet
When Ricky Starks defeated Chris Jericho on the first episode of AEW Dynamite of the year – Jericho wasn’t about to let that stand. He’d have Jake Hager send Starks through a table, kicking off a war in the process. Starks is determined to now get a rematch with Jericho, and has a chance to earn that here tonight. He simply needs to run the Garcia-Guevara Gauntlet, defeating Matt Mendard, Angelo Parker, Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia in one night.
Starks would kick things off with Parker, taking a punch and snap suplex. Parker would stomp the face of Starks, trying to end this early. Starks would look for Roshambo, only for Parker to rake the eyes. Spear would land from Starks, ending the first match of four. Menard would try to attack from behind, but was rolled up and defeated – two down, two to go.
Former ROH Pure Rules Champion Garcia seemed to be next, only for the music of Guevara to hit – leading to confusion and a chance for Starks to recover. Guevara was a distraction, with Garcia attacking Starks from behind and choking him in the corner. Garcia would take some chops from Starks, before running him down with the back elbow smash. Snap Suplex would follow, before Garcia looked for the vaulting leg drop – instead hitting a back heel kick.
A Masked Chris Jericho Strikes
Starks would fire up with some strikes, only to be spiked with a DDT. They’d brawl it out on the mat, before Garcia tried for the Dragon Tamer – with Starks blocking into a pinfall. Spear was set, with Garcia grabbing the Guillotine Choke. Starks broke out with the Powerbomb, but was too drained for the pinfall.
Starks would head to the top rope, but was taken down with a Suplex, but rolled into a Northern Lights Bomb for the near fall. Roshambo was blocked, as Garcia & Starks rolled to the apron – with Starks hitting a spear. A masked man would hitting a Spinning Back Elbow to Starks, allowing Garcia to get the pinfall.
This would be revealed as Chris Jericho himself, screwing over Starks tonight. This won’t be the end of their issues, with this situation likely just firing up Ricky Starks even more. Will we see Jericho vs. Starks II at AEW Revolution? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
