Ariel Helwani is a journalist that made his way to the MMA elite of journalists the hard way – with long dedicated work. However, his approach to getting noticed is much different from the other journalists. He is known for his fierce attacks and counters to Dana White. Well, recently, he dragged Joe Rogan into it as well.
Recently, Ariel Helwani dragged Joe Rogan into his dispute with Dana White and Paddy Pimblett. After the UFC 282 event, people started noticing that the scorecards were sort of inappropriate. Ariel Helwani did not remain silent about it and started digging and asking questions that upset both Dana White and Paddy Pimblett. Ariel Helwani had already entered into a dispute with Paddy Pimblett several weeks ago. The UFC 282 controversy, however, overfilled the glass.
Ariel Helwani Fires Back At Dana White And Paddy Pimblett Attacks And Drags Joe Rogan Into It
Before the UFC 282 event, Dana White and Paddy Pimblett took an interview. In it, they took several shots at Ariel Helwani that did not go unnoticed by the public, nor Helwani himself.
Paddy Pimblett attacked the journalist by pointing out that he is a ‘selfish content creator’ that doesn’t pay any of the UFC fighters that take part in his show. The Liverpudlian demanded that Ariel Helwani starts to pay his guests to star in his show. Finally, the sole reason his show is getting views is the popularity of the guests he invites.
Ariel Helwani replied to the claims in the interview almost immediately. He told that paying his guests to star in the podcast is against the journalists’ ethics.
“You want me to pay for interviews that’s not journalism and and we may have a difference of opinion on what I do as opposed to what you think I do, I ain’t paying for sh*t, that’s not how this works you don’t pay for coverage that’s not how this works does Joe Rogan pay his guess do do all that” – Ariel Helwani said.
Ariel Helwani went a step further and included the podcaster and the UFC commentator Joe Rogan in the controversy. He said that Joe Rogan has a much bigger show than him and he doesn’t pay his guests as well.
Joe Rogan is one of the trademark voices of the UFC. He has been with the MMA promotion for more than 20 years. He started his career with the UFC in 1997, and started working as the UFC’s lead interviewer and color commentator. Rogan speaks openly that he enjoys taking part in the UFC as it means more than just a paycheck. He is passionate about the sport and he watched it develop from the very beginning.
